Hummingbird Lake House - Spacious Family Cabin on Lake Nantahala

The Hummingbird Lake House is a beautifully decorated log cabin that sits high on Lake Nantahala. With beautiful views of the lake and surrounding mountain scenery, this cabin includes two bedrooms with two and a half baths, as well as a loft and bonus room looking over the lake.

The Hummingbird Lake House also features many private porches and decks across all three levels, which offer fantastic long-range views. This cabin has an open floor plan, perfect for entertaining, and is surrounded by large windows and beautiful hardwood floors. Gas grill included.

You and your guests will be able to enjoy a king bed, queen bed, three twin beds, plus a bonus loft. Off the master bedroom includes a private, screened-in porch and sitting room. You will also have access to the private boat dock, which is located across the street. This cabin requires stairs to get to the living room/kitchen areas, as well as the bedrooms and down to the boat dock.

When you stay at Hummingbird Lake House, you and your guests will be able to relax and enjoy the beauty that Lake Nantahala has to offer.

We truly enjoyed our time at the Hummingbird lake home! The home is beautiful, the views are amazing, the furniture, decor/art is first class and the location to the marina/restaurant couldn’t be better! Rent a boat and enjoy the uniquely beautiful lake!!

A perfect stay for a perfect wedding

We stayed here to attend my daughter’s wedding at Nantahala Weddings just down the road a bit. This cabin is adorable. The view is spectacular! This is a really special and beautiful setting. The fall colors were amazing. We would not hesitate to return.

Perfect hideaway

Hummingbird cabin is exceptional in its location, built, and furnishing. A classic yet refined log cabin with fantastic views, a cozy wood-burning fireplace surrounded by leather seating, minutes away from the Lakes End Cafe. Everything worked impeccably, from check-in to check-out. Soon after our arrival, Hummingbird felt like home. If we return to Nantahala, we'll go back to Hummingbird cabin.

Beautiful view

Fantastic cabin with a unbelievable view. Had a wedding at Nantahala’s wedding venue and this cabin was just a short drive away. Had all the needed kitchen utensils to make for a great family outing. Is a remote area so shop in Andrew’s or Murphy before getting to the cabin. Can’t beat the view!

Lovely view of the lake and easy access to the dock and boat rental.

We really enjoyed boating and tubing on the lake. The area has a lot of fun activities like white water rafting and hiking to water falls. At the end of a fun day it was nice to have the awesome view of the lake from the house and deck. Do note, there is no cell access and the wifi is weak. But we did not go there to work.

family weekend

My husband and I met our daughter in Topton NC for a much needed get away. It was my husband and daughter first time in NC and they fell in love with the area. The cabin is stunning from the views to the furnishings. Very comfortable and secluded but a short ride to boating and dinning at Lakesend Marina. We rented a boat for the day and even though it was drizzling it was a fun time. I would highly recommend the cabin and would love to book it again.

Very Nice Weekend so relaxing

This cabin is great! Very clean and just like the pictures. This cozy cabin was a nice family retreat. Enough room for the entire family to relax and recharge. It was immaculate better than the pictures. A fully operable kitchen with a wide variety of spices and everything you need to prepare family meals. All three decks were spacious enough for a large family dinner or just a quite cup of morning coffee. A real gem!

Can't get over that lake view

My family & I really enjoyed our stay in this spacious beautiful cabin overlooking lake Nantahala in April 23'. We were blown away that every bedroom had such a beautiful view of the lake. The bathroom amenities were so nice to have. Everything was clean and decorated beautifully. The kitchen was perfect to cook in and after a long day of hiking or canoeing it was nice to curl up on the couch and watch dish tv. This was a wonderful vacation my family will never forget. Thank you.

Hummingbirds Galore

This cabin is aptly named! There were so many hummingbirds coming to the feeders, it was almost like a wildlife video. The view from the cabin is unsurpassable, breathtaking at every time of the day. The home was clean and nicely appointed, it had everything we needed. Definitely good advice to stop at the grocery store and stock up on the way up. Not a lot of land to walk our dogs as this is seriously vertical living, but there are trails for that. The lake is gorgeous and clean and the boat rental marina is very close by, and we rented a great pontoon to explore the lake. We would most definitely rent this beautiful home again in the future. Not sure how we are going to live without that spectacular view until then!

Thanksgiving getaway

Our family of four, (my hubby, 2 boys, ages 10 and 8, and two dogs (boxer and mini schnauzer and myself) stayed at the hummingbird house for thanksgiving. It was perfect! We welcomed with a basket of muffins and other treats and the beautiful view. The boys immediately were drawn to the downstairs room. They loved the decor and coziness. The house was well stocked with everything you need, even firewood for the cold nights. Nantahala was like living in the Virgin River series. The views from the cabin are spectacular! If you are into fishing make sure to check out the river surrounding the area…they are full of trout and salmon. This was a nice change for us coming from FL, we do mostly salt water fishing. Glad the boys were able to try it out and land their first trouts. We are looking forward to returning!

Beautiful house and view!

The property was lovely and the view was incredible. I just stayed here with my wife, but this would be a great place for a family as well. Anne was very communicative and helpful, and the property managers responded quickly when we ran out of dish detergent. It was too chilly to swim but we enjoyed the private dock. The only downside about the house is the road below it can be a little noisy in the mornings and afternoons when big crews of motorcycles or cars go by.

Another great family vacation!

My family and I have vacationed at Nantahala Lake for the past 6 years! We have rented a different house each year and this one is in the top 3! The porches and the view were great and the bathrooms and bedrooms were clean! The kitchen was a little disappointing in that the pots and pans need replacing. It’s frustrating to count on good cookware and not find what you need. However, I bought a stainless steel pan at the Big Lots in Murphy. Besides that, the house was great and exactly how it is described! The back door does not lock, so you might want to take a look at that! Thanks so much!

Beautiful, peaceful mountain lake

Hummingbird cottage is a wonderful house. The pictures do not do it justice. Mornings on the deck with coffee, watching the fog lift were a marvelous way to start the day. The Bartram trail hike was great, swimming in the lake was great, it was all great. I recommend to families because the basement room is perfect for kids and is separate from the adults. I would love to visit again.

Beautiful House

We had an amazing time when we stayed here. The house is perfect. Tons of space, very clean and comfortable! Amazing view of the lake and perfect location for boating, hiking and sight seeing! The area is breath taking and could not recommend this place enough. Great for families! Our three little kids loved every minute! The house had everything we needed and great communication with the host.

Another great Memorial Day weekend

The property was very clean and aside from the weather being a little cooler than we’d hoped, the trip was awesome! Everything we needed was right there at the property or at the Marina. Easy check in and out process. So appreciative of not having to “clean” the house before we left. Would recommend and definitely would stay again!!

Great Lake Spot

This place was cooler in person than the pictures showed. Super nice cabin with a great kitchen and living area allowing everyone to comfortably be in the same space at the same time. Back porch was utilized the most. The dock is down the driveway and across the road. The driveway is STEEP so if you have a hard time climbing up and down a steep path this might be tough. We brought our dogs with us and they loved the place. The patio has a gate on the front stairs so they couldn’t just leave. One thing about having a house on the side of a mountain is there isn’t a lot of area to walk your dog besides some old rough cut roads that are reclaimed by nature. Completely do able though. House was in good shape and had everything one needed. Definitely follow the hosts instructions on stopping at the local grocery store before coming in! Great stay would come again. Thanks for everything!

Beautiful cabin and lake views!

We had a wonderful stay at Hummingbird cabin. The cabin was immaculate and well stocked with comforts of home. Anne had great communication with us and answered all questions quickly. The dock was wonderful for fishing and we had a wonderful time. We really enjoyed having the whole family there, furry ones included.

The cozy cabin felt like home but with an amazing view.

Christmas Vacation

My family Spent our Christmas vacation at the cabin. We had a great time. The views were spectacular and we got 4 inches of snow. Great time and excellent management.
