8/10 Good
"We arrived to find the cozy scene of this homesteading family watering the garden outside the guest house, which is just across the driveway from the main house. The house was clean and well appointed, sweet, and colorful. There is a nice spirit of creativity about the decor. We were able to cook our modest dinner and make coffee and oatmeal in the morning with ease. We loved the deck upstairs and would have spent time there if it hadn't rained. We did get to walk up into the forest from the back gate of the property and along the ridgeline a ways. Great access! It was pretty hot when we were there in July and although there were fans, the bedrooms did not cool down efficiently because it was hard to get cross ventilation. I am sure this is not a problem when nights are colder. The bed is very soft and we found we rolled to the middle and had a hard time getting out. In fact, we left a day early to find a more comfortable bed. This may not be a problem for others. For reference, we usually sleep on a queen size mattress such as a Tuft and Needle foam or Saatva hybrid. The thing that surprised me was that the host stopped communicating when I let them know we were leaving early. I texted three times through the VRBO app. We did not request a refund, although would have welcomed one, but I expected professional communication and perhaps an inquiry about what would have made us more comfortable."
