The Cajun Encounters tour took me to the Honey Island Swamp where I saw my first up-close, wild alligator. Not just one, but a whole bunch! Not to mention the turtles and local birds that are a lot different from the birds I'm used to in the north. 

Our tour guide, Bishop, was fantastic. He was funny, personal, and knew his stuff. He also managed to attract not just gators but wild pigs as well. 

If I go back to New Orleans--no--WHEN I go back, I fully intend on going on this tour again.
