Beautiful peaceful, unique grounds and pool. Staff were all super friendly, helpful and gave recommendations for the area. The food and drink in the evening were slightly more expensive than we had paid elsewhere but was definitely worth it and was so convenient to just walk through the gardens to the restaurant each evening.
A great base for Nature Valley and the Tsitsikamma Park.
The only minor things were that the air con wasn’t working in the room but didn’t bother us as we had cool nights with rain and also the WiFi in the room was slow or dropped out but other than that we had a great time and would definitely recommend staying here.

Liked: Cleanliness
Disliked: Staff & service, amenities
The hotel amenities are reasonable but be warned there are no TVs and spotty WiFi. There are no nearby restaurants so unless you want to take a 20-30 minute drive for a reasonable restaurant you are obliged to use the hotel restaurant. This gets to my unfortunate experience and low rating for the staff. After our first night being advised it was necessary to place your dinner selection before 12.00 we attempted to do so and were advised the kitchen was closed for the day. The premise had been taken over by an arranged conference and the restaurant leisure area had been converted to facilitate this. I asked why I had not been advised of this prior to arriving and was told that they did not have my contact details. As it was booked through Expedia they could obviously contacted me or certainly advised me in my arrival. When I informed the manager that to close the kitchen and turn the quiet boutique hotel into a conference centerwas unacceptable and I would be checking out her reply was “Good” I definitely would not recommend this hotel

Magnificent
It amazing, the stuff was very friendly and took great care of us
What a stunning property, and amazing couple who own and run it.
We loved our stay and cannot wait to visit once again - 2 nights was just too short.
On a side note - the beds were like sleeping on a cloud.
I loved my stay at Lily Pond. Beautiful grounds and pond. Incredible bird life, singing frogs and absolutely no traffic noise to disturb the peace and tranquility. My accommodation was well appointed, comfortable, spacious and modern - I loved it. Niels and Margaret (owners/managers) were attentive, gracious and genuinely friendly hosts. I chose to have dinners at Lily Pond too - they were mouth-wateringly delicious! This place is a winner and I will be back very soon.
My wife and I found the staff and our hosts to be very welcoming and extremely helpful. It was a real pleasure to stay at the Lily Pond Country Lodge.
The Baboons wandering around the extremities of the grounds took us by surprise at first but on being assured that they were safe we enjoyed the experience.
The rooms were large, high quality and very comfortable although the open plan nature of the bedroom and bathroom was not what we would have chosen..
It is not difficult to see why Lily Pond gets consistently good reviews. Such consistent reviews don’t just happen - they are testament to the professionalism and efforts of the owners, Niels and Margaret. Refreshing to see such hands on owners who have also trained their staff to their own high standards. Everything runs smoothly and apparently effortlessly but that only comes with excellent ownership/management.
Spotlessly clean, very stylish with great attention to detail, excellent food and staff - could have taken Faith home with me for her smile and personality.
Niels and Margaret you deserve your success - thank you. To anyone reading this I can highly recommend Lily Pond and would definitely stay again if in the area.
Car wash was a nice extra touch!!
Amazing relaxing place to stay. Attentive staff and food was absolutely fantastic. Our suite was lovely but be wary of the ordinary garden rooms as the toilet has no door or privacy. May not concern you but our friends who stayed in one found it very disconcerting.
This is by far THE BEST PLACE we've been to in SA and in general. The level of service is so high you won't believe it. The room is beautiful with gorgeous view to the pond. It was top clean with premium bedding. The in house restaurant is amazing. Food was delicious and service was perfect. The owners spend time with each guest every day asking them how was their day and what are their plans for the next days.
Breakfast at tge garden was also delicious and made for order.
Our car has been washed every day!
To sum up: GO THERE! Great value for money and you'll have the best stay for sure! We spent 2 nights there and we were very sad to leave.
