Great sunset villa room. Clean, spacious, great bathroom, inside and outside.
Nice pool, food and service. Knowledgeable guide, just a shame they don’t have as many animals eg. Giraffes and only 2 elephants as bigger safari locations.
An outstanding game reserve with a variety of excellent accommodation. Food excellent new bar outstanding.Pool area luxurious. Game game drives are breathtaking a must for any bucket list
Spacious clean room.
Well stocked minibar, although there were no soft drinks in the fridge other than water.
Game drives are good. Be aware when compared to the reserves further East such as Amakali, there are far fewer animals and the grounds are smaller and less rugged terrain. The accommodation is on the edge of the enclosure so safe from wild animals.
The facilities and game drives here are incredible. We stayed in the luxury family suite with pool room and it was so picturesque with everything that you need.
The game drives are great and the drivers are extremely knowledgeable.
The food choices at breakfast and dinner are also great, with a wide variety of options and the evening menus change daily.
I honestly could not recommend this stay enough.
Secure in-compound parking with electronic gates/openers provided, for a small (reasonable) fee for peace of mind. We loved the apartment unit we had on the front half of the property (called Brighton Beach building). Very easy to walk across the street and be at the tidal pool. We went for a swim every morning and loved having dinner at the various restaurants along the beach, which were delicious and also reasonably priced. Highlights of day were beautiful glass showers with excellent water pressure and plenty of hot water particularly after swimming in the cold water at beach.
Great facility. Looks exactly like the photos. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable. The 2 safaris that we went on were exceptionally good. The jeep driver/guide was knowledgeable & explained everything that he was asked & more. Couldn’t fault him. Would definitely recommend
If you want luxury combined with the beauty of Africa, a safari with knowledgeable guides, 5 star food and beautiful, clean and tastefully decorated rooms with breathtaking views, THIS is the place to go. Have I mentioned the awesome staff!?! We saw all the animals on an organic safari surrounded by beautiful nature.
Our stay at the Garden Route Game Lodge was unforgettable, thanks to our exceptional guide, Timothy. He took us to some of the most unique parts of the reserve, allowing us to witness wildlife up close in their natural habitats.
Timothy’s passion and knowledge stood out—whether tracking cheetahs, explaining the behavior of smaller animals, or sharing insights about native plants, he made every moment fascinating.
The lodge itself was also fantastic.
Room and main lodge were lovely. Game viewing was slightly disappointing. Reserve is effectively broken into fenced sections with the lions in their own enclosure.
Guide appeared a bit rushed at times.
This was a great family vacation. I would recommend it if your little ones are at least 4 years old (or older) and can be occupied without screens on the drives. The drives range from 1.5-3ish hours. We did 2 nights, which meant 4 drives -- and that was the perfect amount of time for us. Easy drive over from Cape Town.
Sune, our driver, was great! Our young kiddo was the only kid in our group, and she did a great job of interacting with him and teaching him (and us!) lots of facts about the animals
The Garden Route Game Lodge offers an excellent, affordable, comfortable and relaxing stay with 2 daily games drives through their expansive game reserve where you get an up close and personal viewing of the various game animals. Your knowledgeable driver will tailor your drives to your preferences where possible. The entire staff are friendly and go above the usual standard of service to ensure you have a great stay. Tip - book Spa services early if you want to partake. Food & beverage is excellent. I recommend a minimum 2 nights, but preferably 3 nights to fully enjoy the facilities and 6 drives and appreciate the amazing animals more than once.
We were passing through Albertinia and decided to spend the night at this lodge and it was such an unexpected pleasure. Dinner was tasty, cozy room and a really fun game drive in the morning. It’s a different concept from safari in a big NP, once you understand that you’re in for a great ride.
