"We stayed one night at Stok Palace, and really enjoyed the whole experience. Their Willow restaurant in the nearby orchard was lovely, we had a beautiful walk up to the Buddha through the town, the traditional dinner in the royal kitchen was delicious and interesting and Rinchen was a wonderful host. And it's hard to beat the palace ramparts as a location for tea or breakfast, with an incredible view over the valley and mountains. We also loved the design of our room, with so much pattern and colour, and would definitely recommend morning prayers with the monk-in-residence. We've never stayed anywhere like it."

"Nice hotel. Nice room. Excellent view. To stay in Shey, it’s obviously can be chosen. The only thing you must keep in mind that there is no shops or restaurants nearby. You will have to eat from hotel kitchen. Their foods are also good.No worry"

"A wonderful place that feels more like staying in someone’s beautiful country home than a hotel. The gardens are full of flowers, fruit and vegetables, much of which ends up on your plate. From our window we looked out onto flowers, cows quietly munching the grass, and the mountains beyond. It was quite magical. The food is excellent and the whole place has a wonderfully peaceful, unhurried atmosphere. The staff could not be kinder or more helpful, with a special mention for Chorula at reception, who looked after us so warmly. It is a little outside Leh, so you need transportation to get around, but that is also part of its charm. If you want to slow down, relax and enjoy Ladakh, it is a very special place."
