"We would highly, highly recommend Ichirino Kogen Hotel Roan.
Dinner was phenomenal - some of the best food we had on our one month trip travelling around Japan. The variety of dishes, the freshness of the food, the beautiful presentation, and the harmony of the flavor combinations stood out to us. It was really delicious. Great place to stay near the train station. The staff were nice and there are a lot of free amenities offered. It was quiet, we could not hear any street traffic. Would recommend this hotel. Only recommendation is the clothes dryers didn’t really dry. Dried for 1.5 hours and they were still wet. Maybe this is just Japanese dryers?

The facilty is old & the room smelled of cigarettes, but everything else was wonderful. If looking for authentic Japanese experience (for the working and middle class Japanese) this is a very good experience. Dinner and breakfast buffet was really good. However there's little to do around the lake, unlike Yamashiro ir Yamanaka onsen area.

We arrive at the Komatsu Airport at 9 PM. The Route-Inn shuttle picked us up a 9:15 PM and took us right to the hotel. The English speaking manager explained to us the details for taking the Route-Inn shuttle to the train station the next day. In the morning, we enjoyed the free breakfast buffet which had an excellent selection of food. The room was very comfortable and the air conditioning worked well.

We loved hotel, was very well located. The only thing that I don’t recommend at all is the breakfast. It’s just a sandwich and coffee, nothing more. Thinking about that it’s Japan you would expect another thing.
