"The guy that looked after us, Satoshi, was really nice and very accommodating- he didn't speak english and we didnt speak Japanese but we got by. It was end of season and very quiet feeling like we had the place to ourselves. It was clean and immaculate. The breakfast was beautifully presented and ample. He met uas at the station and dropped us off as well as taking us elsewhere as and when needed. A really good experience and we would return."

"The hotel’s remote location and beautiful views were wonderful! The hotel’s shuttle from and to Echigo-Yuzawa Station was very much appreciated. From Check-in to check-out the staff service was excellent. The Japanese/Western room was spacious. We had a corner unit with a view of the snow and trees. The booking came with buffet breakfast and dinner we were so happy and satisfied-the food layout was appetizing and very delicious. A free-flow of alcohol drinks during the meal was offered and we utilized it the first night of our stay-it is a timed period of 75 minutes at a small additional cost per person. We enjoyed both the hotels onsen baths. The main bath is on the first floor of the main building and it has an indoor and outdoor bath. The view from the outdoor bath is majestic and relaxing with the snowy field and trees. The second bath is on the 7th floor of the annex and it was only indoor but was still wonderful and stress-relieving. Since we were from Hawaii, USA the staff’s English was much better than my elementary Japanese. Translation apps on phones are useful. Everyone was kind and so helpful. Take a chance and stay at this wonderful hotel! We came during winter so we could snowboard. The hotel shuttle will take you to Echigo-Yuzawa station and then from station you can take free shuttles to the various slopes in the Yuzawa area. But I am sure this hotel is wonderful anytime of the year! Aloha Oe! "

"I chose this hotel for its location next to a ski resort and I liked the look of the tatami rooms. This hotel is very cheap and you get what you pay for. The room was small and old, the futon mattresses you use to make your bed were thin and I woke up achy every day. The staff were helpful and friendly with limited English. We tried a meal at the hotel and were asked to pay in advance and then given no menu - we just got what was given (which wasn’t bad actually). Theu have their own rental for ski equipment which was handy. There were no other families here (I have a wife and kid) and it was all young people. There was a shared bathroom and the showers were communal and in the hot spring pool room. So if you are on a tight budget and young you could do worse (especially as similar properties in the area seemed to have similar facilities at a higher price - and en suite facilities are rare). But if you are older and or need a bit more luxury - no. They only provided hand towels free - larger you had to pay for. Really guys?"

"Fast and easy self check in when we arrived on the 21st Dec. Room is clean with views, we stayed in traditional tatami room type. The hotel should have a regular and frequent bus service even though the ski resort is not open yet so as to convenient the guests who stay there. There is no family mart nearby. The hotel is near to Ishiuchi Maruyama ski Resort (Hatsukaishi entrance) and it's just about 5 mins walk and it's also near to some public onsen. The staff is friendly and can speak very good English. "

"The junior suite room was spacious, and the hot spring was great. Great staff. Breakfast was served buffet-style, and it was good. However, since I visited during the off-season, their restaurant was closed for dinner."
