"The guy that looked after us, Satoshi, was really nice and very accommodating- he didn't speak english and we didnt speak Japanese but we got by. It was end of season and very quiet feeling like we had the place to ourselves. It was clean and immaculate. The breakfast was beautifully presented and ample. He met uas at the station and dropped us off as well as taking us elsewhere as and when needed. A really good experience and we would return."

"We have stayed in Nagaoka a few times. This hotel is the best. The staff are extremely kind and accommodating. The breakfast buffet is probably the best in all of Niigata prefecture. The rooms are renovated leaving us with the best large and highest pressure shower I've ever had."

"I chose this hotel for its location next to a ski resort and I liked the look of the tatami rooms. This hotel is very cheap and you get what you pay for. The room was small and old, the futon mattresses you use to make your bed were thin and I woke up achy every day. The staff were helpful and friendly with limited English. We tried a meal at the hotel and were asked to pay in advance and then given no menu - we just got what was given (which wasn’t bad actually). Theu have their own rental for ski equipment which was handy. There were no other families here (I have a wife and kid) and it was all young people. There was a shared bathroom and the showers were communal and in the hot spring pool room. So if you are on a tight budget and young you could do worse (especially as similar properties in the area seemed to have similar facilities at a higher price - and en suite facilities are rare). But if you are older and or need a bit more luxury - no. They only provided hand towels free - larger you had to pay for. Really guys?"

"All the staff are so nice and friendly. Highly recommend this place for fellow snowboarders and skier. It got everything you need from in-house breakfast and dinner. "

"Fast and easy self check in when we arrived on the 21st Dec. Room is clean with views, we stayed in traditional tatami room type. The hotel should have a regular and frequent bus service even though the ski resort is not open yet so as to convenient the guests who stay there. There is no family mart nearby. The hotel is near to Ishiuchi Maruyama ski Resort (Hatsukaishi entrance) and it's just about 5 mins walk and it's also near to some public onsen. The staff is friendly and can speak very good English. "

"The junior suite room was spacious, and the hot spring was great. Great staff. Breakfast was served buffet-style, and it was good. However, since I visited during the off-season, their restaurant was closed for dinner."
