"First time staying in a Ryokan and to our surprise, they send us to the “annex” which was not as nice as the main building of the hotel. We did have a spacious western style room and our small private bathtub. We didn’t really get to experience staying at a Ryokan since we were in a building its rooms and no baths. The space was ok. "Very clean and very comfortable. They are very vague about you putting everything back. Does it mean you have to wash all of your dishes and put them back exactly? Communication was lacking. Of the two emails I sent, I never got a response. I left some stuff there and asked if it was found and they decided not to answer me. "This was advertised as having a kitchen. Kitchen facilities are in another building that are communal. The other option is to rent a gas burner. Everything is extra (e.g. trash, gas burner). Heater for room kept turning off. Barely enough space for 3 futons. Japanese communal bathrooms near bungalows, western style in main building. We only stayed one of the two nights booked even though we did not get a refund."
