Sunflower Cottage - relax with spa bath and fireplace

Sunflower cottage is a pet-friendly 3-bedroom holiday house. It is located in South Katoomba, between Katoomba and Leura, two of the most popular towns in the Blue Mountains area.
There is a large veranda at the front with a great view into the valley and out the back is an enormous yard. Off-street parking for several cars. The family bathroom features a spa bath and there is another toilet.
Well-behaved pets are welcome with no extra fee. Please be aware though, there is no enclosed yard. Your pets can stay inside the house but please keep them away from the bedrooms.

Very well appointed. Beds were super comfortable. Great location between Leura and Katoomba. Would have liked some wood for fireplace and/or directions to source some but other heating was more than adequate…very cosy.

We had a fabulous time at sunflower cottage. The house was spacious and the rooms were very comfortable! The central heating kept us nice and warm and the house was in a good location and it was easy to drive and navigate around from the cottage.

Property was great. Wish there was guest book so we can say thanks. Would like an extra comfort chair in front room, fine for 4 people with six adults more difficult. Extra plates and oven tray would be more helpful again fine 4 people with 6 people be more helpful. Otherwise 5 stars. Thanks

We loved staying in this cottage. Walking is not for the faint hearted as the roads are very steep but it is a very pretty location. The cottage was clean and well equipped with comfortable beds.

We had a great stay here. The property was clean and well equipped. The location was good proximity wise, and there were good amenities like Alexa, board games and books. The yard was a little overgrown, but it didn't affect our stay. The hosts were lovely and we would stay again.

We stayed at Sunshine cottage for a family weekend in Oct. The house is clean and perfectly functional, and made for an easy weekend. The location is good being a couple of minutes from Leura main street or then 5 mins into Katoomba.

This cottage was well presented and made relaxation breezy. The property manager was swift to resolve an immediate situation where we locked ourselves out of this property. We are more than happy to revisit this place another time.

The house had everything we needed and more. It was neat and tidy. It was easy to access everywhere we went. The host was easy to communicate with in the lead up to our stay. The only thing I would add would be an island bench (like from Ikea) to make food preparation for 6 a bit easier.

We stayed in Sunflower cottage for a weekend during the summer. It is a comfortable and very clean house, with a beautiful balcony with a view of the bush. The neighborhood is very peaceful and more remote than the groomed central Leura neighborhoods. No soft materials on the floors which is ideal for pets. I would stay there again.

Stayed here for four nights with the family. Loved the house layout and the little touches like the coffee machine and well equipped kitchen. The beds were comfy and the verandah was perfect for an afternoon cocktail. We didn’t realise how steep the slope was till a message prior to check in and we appreciated all the comms from the property manager. The only negative feedback I have is that the couch in the living area is spectacularly uncomfortable, and the doonas are covered in some kind of plastic material (I appreciate the need for hygiene but on a humid night it was less than ideal).

Front gate broken no protection from street, no gate on balcony. Not secure for pets. Backyard area shabby & not managed. Backyard very Slippery & dark no lighting at night. One 3 seat lounge - no other comfortable seating. We were half hour late for check out at 10.00 & were abused by cleaner / supervisor who was very rude & nasty - will not stay again. Very disappointed

There was a lot about this property that was excellent, but a couple of things detracted from its desirability. Firstly, the shower was difficult to access, quite unsuitable for anyone with mobility or balance issues. And although the property was advertised as "with fireplace", there was only enough wood supplied for one fire. We were there in winter, and it was only just warm enough. (The gas heating struggled to cope with the cold temperatures) Also, the driveway needs attention- we scraped under the front of our car each time we left the driveway and entered the street, due to the angle between the street and the very steep driveway. Other than the lack of wood for the fireplace, the property was well appointed.
