We go to State College for the mountains surrounding it and all the State Parks. Autumn is a great time to visit for the leaves changing colors. There are multiple places to eat, almost all the chain restaurants are nearby.

State College is a quaint college town with lots to offer! Restaurants, nature, and of course all the sports that PSU has to offer!

State College was a fine town. There is not much around it, but it has most everything you will need while you're in town. They use a phone app for parking downtown, so I would recommend downloading it before you go, so you have it when you need it.

Off season but still fun. Lots of construction on campus so we couldn't see everything we wanted to. For example the All Sports Museum.

Generally pleasant and convenient; can get hectic when students are fully in session. Crowded during football weekends

Our purpose was to sleep and get back on the road. Yet the vibes of State College slipped in. Within walking distance of the hotel we found a great restaurant, Marzonni's, where we enjoyed the food and the young men who were talking football.
"Room was awesome. Much roomier than I thought. There were multiple wedding parties staying at same time so there were some messes in the lobby early in am. Other than that it was great."
"Despite being under construction, the staff were very kind and helpful, and the food in the bar/lounge was excellent! The stay was very quiet and the bed was incredibly comfortable. My husband and I are looking for the same bed to buy for at home. It is a very convenient drive to any place on the Penn State campus or downtown State College, as well as shopping and restaurants that are on the outskirts. It was a great stay and a really great price. We will definitely stay again!"
"Room was nice, we stayed in a suite, which is not what you picture as a suite, two queen beds and in the same room, a pullout sofa. It was okay for our needs, but the pull out wasn’t very comfortable. Morning breakfast was okay as well. The yogurt machine didn’t work while we were there and numerous customers wanted it. The coffee/hot chocolate machine worked one day of our stay, didn’t work the other day and nothing was put out to substitute. The kids really wanted hot chocolate for their nighttime ritual. The pool was nice, clean and towels were consistently restocked. The kids loved it. Could use a clock in that room or one in the gym that works. You could see the one in the gym, but did was off by hours so no help. "
"Looking for a clean and affordable option in State College. In looking at the hotel we stayed at last visit, I came across this hotel which was half the price and had all great reviews. I gave it a try and glad I did. I feel like I got my monies worth due to the amazing massaging shower, the clean room, and hearty free morning breakfast. I will definitely choose this hotel during my next visit. "

"The facility is very clean. The room was very spacious and clean. The bed... wow! It was so comfortable! We liked the assortment of pillows. There was a microwave, coffee pot and refrigerator. Everything in the room worked. My only complaint was the lighting - even with the curtains opened, the room wasn't very bright. The courtesy counter is staffed with very pleasant people, but that doesn't apply to the people servicing the breakfast area. (Those people looked so unhappy and didn't interact with people.) "
