"Hi we were allocated an upgrade which was pleasing as we have visited a few times. Once again could not have been more welcome by ALL Staff not just reception. The hotel from every aspect is clean as a whistle, (try a visit to its next door neighbour and you can check the standard against it competition Breakfast was as ever delicious to eat and plated up showing the chefs pride in the fare delivered to our table, fresh, hot, cooked to perfection. Tried many hotels over 51 years of travelling as a family and this fare tops them all. During the weekend the bar gets busy without being noisy, music kept low so no shouting required bear &food flow to guests and many customers are locals"

"The mill hotel is in an excellent location just a short walk from the city centre. The room was lovely could do with better pillows but otherwise slept really well. Breakfast was really nice. Overall the staff were all brilliant and always helpful. Definitely a five star rating from us."

"Generally our stay at the hotel was good. The location is good, the room was clean and functional and the breakfast was excellent with great service. The let down for us was that when we returned to the hotel, cold and wet (due to the storm) on the Friday evening we first went to the bar to warm up. I ordered 2 coffees for for my wife and I, but was told the coffee machine had been cleaned and no hot drinks were available, this was at 10.15pm. A supposed 5 star hotel could not supply a coffee? I then asked for a port for us both but was told we don't have any ?? We went straight back to our room. The good points of the hotel were negated by the attitude of the bar staff who couldn't be bothered to help. Will try another hotel next time we need to stay in Chester."
