"This is a very small converted milking palour that is really only suitable for a night or two's stay. While the bathroom is well equiped, it is small with zero shelfing. The bedroom is cramped with one small recess that is unusalble because it's behind the bedside table. There is a third bed, but that's in teh main living area, so if the person using that bed wants to go to sleep, everyone has to go to sleep! Due to the bed in the living space, there's no table to sit at, so if you did want...

"I had a wonderful stay at Powter Howe, a real treat. The room and bathroom were immaculately cleaned and well kept and the host is a gem who cooks the best breakfast which includes lovely free range eggs from her own hens. Waking up in the morning to the view over a beautiful garden beyond the lake to Skiddaw was an extra treat as each morning there was a new ever changing Lake District vista. I'll definitely be back! "Our stay at the castle was fabulous. The staff were excellent to deal with and the facilities are stunning. The kitchen is well equipped and we were pleasantly surprised to have access to launry facilities. The room was nicely finished and very large. I highly recommend the Muncaster Castle and our only regret was not budgeting enough time to fully enjoy all that is available."
