Very happy we did, all the comments from the good reviews we found to be accurate. The only negative comment I could make is that, by necessity electric showers are fitted and they are a bit whimpish! You to run around to get wet 」

Right from the start you feel that it is going to be different. With a private carpark, accessed via the No Through Road off Market Place, you are in a courtyard with two impressive stone Gothic Revival buildings - the old Sessions House (1841) and the matching County Hall of 1927 - which now houses the hotel.

The owners are very hospitable, and friendly. Everything has been thought of to make your stay more enjoyable and trouble free. I stayed in one of the pods, which are just brilliant. Has everything you need. Has heating and a fan if needed. The pods are right on the edge of the well stocked lake. I arrived early evening, but didn't seem to be a problem, and nothing was too much trouble. Made to feel very welcome and invited to explore the grounds...
