The apartment in Sant’Agata was wonderful. We stayed there for a month with our cousins and had plenty of room. The apartment itself was beautifully constructed, very clean, and well-equipped. The owner, Giovanni, will make every effort to solve your transportation problems or anything that needs fixing or explaining. He will offer to take you where you want to go—even to Naples or to the Amalfi Coast. This will be an extra fee, but reasonable given the cost of public taxis and $8/gallon gas.
A washing machine is included, and it is the renter’s job to keep towels and sheets clean. There is no dryer, so everything has to be hung out to dry. The humidity or rain can make this difficult at times. The outdoor patio provided hours of relaxation and provided facilities to eat outdoors.
We highly recommend taking the tiny trains in Sant’Agata and Sorrento to grasp the beauty of these towns and to explore the agricultural products the region is known for.
Bring a plastic Melita coffee cone and filters to make American coffee. Otherwise you will be using an old fashioned percolator which is difficult.
For the disabled or elderly travelers, there is a 45 degree hill to climb for 5 minutes when you go into town. But the restaurants and shops are worth the walk when you go.
We loved every minute of our stay and we will return some day!
