We are a well travelled family and have never had such terrible experience like the one we had in the Royal Continental Hotel, Naples. The staff were not friendly. We were given a room that was not cleaned or prepared for check in and when we expressed our concern, we were given a different room. The bathrooms had a sewer smell all the time, the bath tub had mildew, the sink was not cleaned , only 2 bath towels were given for 3 people and there was no hand lotion or slippers. Very bad breakfast, you do not have the choice of picking up your own food. Instead, we had to request the staff to pick up food from the buffet for you. We had to pay extra for a vegetable omelette and French toast. The omelette had lots of spinach and water inside and French toast was nothing but fried plain bread with icing sugar on top. We asked to borrow some cutlery and were told we needed to pay €8 for this.
Overall, we had an overwhelmingly negative experience at the Royal Continental Hotel and we would not recommend staying here while in Naples.
