The Settle to Carlisle Railway Line, on occasion, offers travel by steam train. Skipton enjoys a wide, sweeping High Street with a Norman castle standing guard at the top. The Leeds-Liverpool canal traverses Skipton and outlying villages, with canal day trips from Skipton a great alternative way to view the area. Farm shop 2 miles, pub/restaurant ¾ mile.
