Sight and Sound Theatres

Sight and Sound Theatres featuring heritage architecture, a park and outdoor art
Bringing Bible stories to life, this inspiring show is in an elaborate theater with a massive panoramic stage, spectacular sets and live animals.

Sight & Sound Theatres is one of the largest Christian theater companies in the country and one of the highest attended live theaters in Branson, Missouri. Enjoy amazing stories in a majestic 2,000-seat theater with a 300-foot (90-meter) wraparound stage. See great performances with a talented cast and sets up to 40 feet (12 meters) high.

Glenn Eshelman, the founder of the Sight & Sound Theatres, started his artistic career selling paintings and photographs out of the back of his car. In 1964, he presented his photography at a local church using a slide projector and narrating with a microphone. The audience response was very positive, making this first Sight & Sound show an inspiration for further development. By the mid-1970s, Glenn and his wife Shirley were taking their multimedia presentations to audiences across the country. In 1976 they officially began the Sight & Sound Theatres in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The twin Branson theater opened in 2008. Be inspired by this real-life story of a young boy who grew up on a dairy farm in rural Pennsylvania and ended up creating a successful theater company.

The shows have great special effects and high-quality production. See inspiring performances, massive detailed sets, live animals and a stage that surrounds the audience on three sides. Listen to beautiful songs with original scores recorded using orchestras from across the globe, while the lyrics and accompanying vocals are delivered live from the stage. Enjoy stories designed to be appealing to everybody, regardless of age or previous exposure to the Bible.

While you are visiting the Sight & Sound Theatres, make sure you book a behind-the-scenes tour for an insider’s view of what it takes to put these epic Bible stories on stage.
