"Location needed a lot of maintenance. Room was missing half the light bulbs, shower curtain was broken and haphazardly repaired, gum on the carpet in room, and badly done/patched up paint jobs. Broken tiles all over the lobby. Ownership needs to spend some money correcting problems. One positive - Housekeeping staff was friendly and accommodating. Would stay in a nicer part of town in the future. It wasn't very pricey, but it was not what I expected as we didn't aim for the bottom dollar."

"We had a great one-night stay at The Darling. Both the hotel and our specific room were immaculate. It felt luxurious just to chill on premises and the rainfall shower was a 10/10. We enjoyed the heated pool and had dinner at the rooftop restaurant Elderwood. We interacted with staff a few times and always got quick and helpful responses. Was treated with a bottle of champagne in the room and a slice of cheesecake at dinner for my birthday. Also the free room treats are a small but noticeable gesture and every hotel should do the same. Would definitely stay again. Would love to see the other rooms and try breakfast at Elderwood next time. "
