Located next to Savannah’s picturesque Washington Square, (named for George Washington) The Washington Square Main House is one of Savannah's oldest homes built between1790 and 1810. The award-wining, historically preserved home is a luxury refuge for families and friends looking to relax, unwind and explore Savannah.
This home sat vacant and decaying for YEARS until we bought it in 1992. Miraculously, we were able to retain the vast majority of its original details! The stair case, heart pine floors, windows, fireplaces and mantles are all part of the original home.
No expense was spared on this painstakingly restored, but modernized historic mansion. It is fully outfitted with a gourmet kitchen and island seating for 3. Doors from the kitchen lead to the lush, private courtyard.
The private courtyard features historic terracotta statuettes and lush foliage. Table seating for 8 allows for alfresco meals or evening cocktails. This courtyard is shared with our guests that rent the Carriage House, which is over the garage and behind the courtyard.
Our dining room and sun room are beside the kitchen featuring the original fireplaces and millwork. Guests can lounge in the comfy sun room and appreciate the courtyard views.
The formal living room has comfortable seating and a large smart TV for family gatherings with historically preserved details like the original fireplace - no, we don't allow fires any longer!
On the first floor is the first of four bedrooms with a queen bed tucked into the front window nook. There is a full bathroom beside this bedroom with a large walk-in shower and this bathroom has a entrance from the hallway for all guests to access.
On the second floor you will find the other 3 bedrooms and spacious bathrooms.
The primary bedroom faces Congress Street and with a queen size bed, chaise lounge and a LARGE luxury bathroom! This bathroom has a decorative fireplace, 2 separate vanities, a lovely soaking tub and a walk-in shower. On the other side of this bathroom is a large walk-in closet for the primary guests.
The second bedroom has a King size bed, en-suite bathroom and closet. The airy and sunny bathroom has a soaking tub and separate walk-in shower.
The last, 4th bedroom has TWO charming, TWIN antique maple poster beds and a full e-suite bathroom. These rooms are bright and sunny and this bathroom has a large walk-in shower.
The front porch and entrance of the home has 3 steps approaching the porch. So it is not wheel chair accessible but it may be suitable for some folks with mobility issues, as there is a full bedroom and bathroom on the first floor.

*NOISE: This property is NOT PARTY friendly. We do not allow loud noise, loud music, public drunkenness, or parties of any sort.

This is a family oriented neighborhood with year-round tenants. Violators may be evicted and/or fined. The City of Savannah Noise Ordinance requires strict observance of QUIET TIME between 10 pm and 8 am. Savannah Police and the neighborhood strictly enforce this. The individual violators can be fined and/or EVICTED.

*PARKING: This reservation includes ONE private, garage parking space.
Parking for additional vehicles: Downtown Savannah has metered, on-street parking Monday through Friday. You can download the APP "Park Savannah" to pay meters from your phone

Visitor Parking Passes are available for 24hours/$15.00 and 48hours/$24.00. Passes can be purchased at the City of Savannah Parking Services Office at 100 East Bryan Street. Please call them with any questions about parking in the city, 912.651.6470.
