"This is an excellent choice for seeing Saumur. It is in an old building with a lot of character. My room was large, with wooden beamed ceiling, tall windows that opened, and a limestone fireplace I wish I had in my home. Ensuite had shower and had plenty of space. Bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly and quite helpful. The hotel is part of a very large restaurant with good food and good service. "The hotel is extremely well located, right in the centre of Saumur and very close to restaurants and the main shopping streets. Our room was comfortable and quiet. We chose the breakfast option, which was good and offered a decent selection, although we found it a little expensive. I would probably not recommend relying on the hotel parking, as it is shared with a supermarket and spaces are therefore not guaranteed. There is, however, free parking only about a five-minute walk away, which we found much more convenient. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and found the hotel to be a good, comfortable base for exploring Saumur."

"Good location (very close to the train station and downtown) and relatively quiet for being located on a major road at a major intersection. The building is nice, solidly constructed with spacious rooms and high ceilings. The room needs some updating in terms of decor and there are little touches that show a lack of very careful attention to maintenance (curtains that aren’t attached completely at the top of the window, dead mosquitoes on the sheer curtains). A little more careful attention to these details would go a long way to improving the first impression. That said, the room was spacious (a corner room -05) and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were welcoming and pleasant. All in all, I recommend this hotel and would stay again on another visit to the Saumur area."

"The property was very well proportioned and furnished. There was generous space in which to socialise and the games room was a big hit. The pool was lovely, with some interesting views into underground caves. Gilles was a charming host, and very helpful too.I would recommend this wonderful home to any large group wishing to explore Anjou."

"Charming hotel in a unique position with excellent access to the main square for dining and shopping. The bar and breakfast room are lovely. Staff all friendly and also helpful when necessary eg our kettle didn’t work. (Quickly replaced). Our bathroom sliding door seemed to be missing a handle but forgot to mention as it did have a recessed finger pull. Saumur was an amazing place and we really enjoyed our short stay on the way back to Caen to catch the ferry home. Will return at some point as soon as much to see."
