Likes: Room was very clean; Bed comfortable; HVAC very good; large flat screen tv; microwave
Dislikes: unable to figure out how to access local tv channels - only had HDMI GRIT channel; no tissues in room; had trouble finding entry to office from street; office was very minimal - behind glass cubical; no help available for baggage; parking was in facility and adequate, but very limited number of spaces.
Overall:Given that I was alone and only stayed overnight following an event on Shelter Island, the motel was very adequate.
I was looking for a last-minute budget option- and that's exactly what I got.
The property is dated and in dire need of some love- and they are actually doing some renovation! Literally from 7 am til 8:30 pm nonstop!!! ( I was in room 302, right above me.)
The place is as clean as an old house can be, smells musky, but the bed is comfy, and the sheets are fresh. There was only one, very thin blanket on the bed - and the AC in the room was set to 60F when I arrived...
The best part about the room was the shower: it's strong, powerful, great to stand underneath- just be careful, because the water is scorching hot!! Bring toiletries!
The place wasn't full when I visited in January, and there was ample parking, but it is tight, and if you have a larger vehicle, you might have a problem maneuvering in the tiny garage.
The area is safe to walk around, even in the dark, and there are several places to eat around: the Fish Shop is expensive, but fabulous. There is a Thai place about a block away - reasonable and fresh.
Across the street, there is a pub with great drinks, food, and atmosphere. A couple blocks away, you find a marvelous Japanese restaurant- don't miss it!
All in all, if you don't expect the Ritz Carlton, you will be ok for a few days

The staff was very nice, last minute need for a room in Point Loma.
For the price you can’t beat it. I loved the water pressure in the shower and how close restaurants and things so close to walk to and has great scenery.
I read reviews before staying so I remembered to bring my own cups. The bathroom was wonderful, the TV had a fabulous selection of channels, and the fridge worked very well. The heater needed work though. The hotel’s location is excellent for restaurants and Harbor Island.
We had no towel for the shower, I asked 2 times and when got some they were wet. The floor at our level was dirty and had an old toilet in font of a room. The room smelled the humidity and the ac was super noisy. The only good thing was that The staff was kind and the place is well located
We knew nothing about that part of San Diego at all, but were pleasantly surprised at how close we were to our concert venue. So close we decided to walk rather than figure out parking. The help was very good and left us extra towels, the bed was firm and comfy, but nobody cleaned the room during our 2-night stay. Basically, okay if you're not looking for luxury.

Construction hindering quality
No towels in the room. Paint barrels under the sink, due to ongoing construction ongoing. An hour after I'd asked the owner for towels, I still hadn't received any, so I asked a lady in he hallway. They had no face clothes, small towels or bath mat available, just bath towels. I had to move the paint barrels out into the hallway because the painters weren't available to move them. However, after this, the owner was kind to hold my bags while I was out, even after check-out, so that was good.
Great location, walking to many restaurants, etc. unfortunately the room was not what I expected. Missing lightbulbs, Bare walls, ripped and old sofa, no lobby and no coffee. It was hard to contact someone at the desk.
Lesser expensive place to stay. Need was firm but comfortable. AC worked fine. Bathroom all worked. Hot water was good. The bathroom was as well cleaned as I would expect. Some hair was on the floor and in the shower. Nothing excessive but... Parking in the garage is limited and a very tight fit.
the staff were all very kind, but not often present. The room itself was alright, just not very clean. Stains on the walls, sink, lots of hair and dust.

It was a good location, but we had an older room that hadn’t been updated. Also our king bed was not in the proper position? So the 2nd day we turned it properly so our feet weren’t hanging over the bed. It was quiet & we could walk around easily.
You get what you pay for here :) The young lady at the counter checking me in was rude and impatient, she gave judgy stares and muttered under her breath in another language then only gave one room key that was dirty and reused. This same young lady spoke to the cleaning lady very nicely and respectfully as she came down to say she was almost done cleaning while I was being checked in. The young man at the counter the next day was polite, friendly, helpful and no muttering under his breath and gave me two room keys which is standard since I lost the one given. It was simply a great location but that is the best I can say about this place, oh and the water was hot and AC worked. The rooms are sketchy at best, tv didnt work, no toiletries, no tissues, no soap, the smoke detector was missing and the carbon monoxide detector was covered with a plastic bag. You get one big towel and a small one,1 thin blanket, 2 pillows, rock hard spring mattress. Bare bones. The elevator doesnt work. The cleaning lady walked in on me right after I checked in to my room to finish cleaning, very awkward.
Elevator was noisy and worrisome. Lobby floors uneven and variegated. Very little spending by management on towels, room maintenance or general maintenance. Front door was swollen and would not close without excessive force. Parking garage small and parking places even smaller. Refrigerator was frozen over at the top but only semi cold on the bottom. Beds and showers were nice. The neighborhood was also not bad at all. Prices were good for San Diego area. Not staying here again though.
The room smell like smoke the whole time, there were little bugs around. The hotel say no smoking and there were cigarette buds right under the board. The building is sketchy, the parking lot is too congested i was always worried if someone will bump in my car. The street parking felt more safe then the basement parking. I will never recommend anyone this hotel, better spend a little more money and get a better place. The place doesn’t even look like close to the pictures they posted.
To summarize my review this hotel is far below 1 star rating in cleanliness, (health inspector should stop by)
The staff is a 2 star rating could be more professional and be a little more urgency stood around for 20 minutes before someone came to the front.
Amenities rating 0 because they have NONE.
PARKING less than favorable
Location is PRIME!!!
Over all the price is for like a decent room at an extented stay. But it falls far below meeting those expectations.
The location of this hotel is Prime. However this cleanliness of this hotel is Far below a 1 star rating. This hotel is in need of some serious upgrades. Its family owned which is always nice to support however they would SERIOUSLY benefit from hiring a MAID, AND A REAL MAINTENANCE guy. They clean the rooms themselves and they gave me an absolutely horrible smelling room, with holes in walls, mold in bathroom and in the mini fridge, tons of dead insects (spiders, other bugs) left smashed to walls on top of tv, and in drawers. The room has a horrible smell. There is such much i could tell you that went wrong after check in but im sure you get the point. If you dont the cleanliness of the room and are just going for location i suggest this hotel if not then I suggest looking for other accommodations.
