THE DISTRICT
Rione Prati is of recent construction, in fact it was born through the action of the municipal council on 20.08.1921 which decided to reduce the extension of the nearby Borgo district.
The name of Prati has ancient origins as the toponym of the place and meant precisely the meadows that extended from the surroundings of Castel S. Angelo.
Due to its size, the area lent itself to being used as a base camp for armies interested in the conquest, and sometimes even in the defense of Rome. This military character remained in the area for a long time, subsequently used for exercises until the construction, in the late nineteenth century, of the large barracks of Prati and the naming of the contiguous area of Piazza d'Armi, today in the Vittoria district.
Today, the many shops, bars and restaurants make this neighborhood full of life! Here are the things we recommend:
- Stroll along via Cola di Rienzo admiring the shop windows to get to Piazza Risorgimento, a stone's throw from Piazza San Pietro
- As an alternative to shopping, for an exciting experience, you can cross Borgo Pio starting from Castel Sant'Angelo to find yourself near Bernini's Colonnade and gradually discover the facade of the Basilica.

- The tourist tax (€ 6 per night per person) will be paid in cash upon arrival.
- For bookings longer than a week, a weekly cleaning of € 60 is provided in addition to the final cleaning of the apartment.
