"I asked for early check in - 3 pm instead of 4 pm. Thankfully they were able to get half of the 6 rooms ready by 3:30. But when I called the front desk person sighed and made it sound like it was going to be a big problem. The rooms were clean, otherwise the staff were nice and mainly just stayed out of our way. Breakfast was fine. I have family in Kalispell and when we told them we booked the Red Lion they said it has had trouble with homeless people around the hotel. We didn’t have any trouble but a security guy walked through when a guy who looked as though he had a rough life walked through the lobby - he left as the security guy came through. Besides that we didn’t have any problems. Also, our kids were disappointed the pool wasn’t working. "

"Cottage number 5 was cute and clean. Every detail of the cottage was well thought out and beautifully presented. From the cozy fireplace, to the spacious bathroom and the comfortable bedding, this location was perfect. We loved being next to the river and just down the street from down town bigfork. We easily walked to dinner, coffee and shopping."

"Not fancy but decent. Breakfast was good. Excellent diner next door and lake was right across the street. A little noisy as the hiway was right there. Great walkways along the lake."

"We had a pleasant stay overall. The hotel is nice and the staff were welcoming and helpful. Unfortunately, the pool experience fell short. The water was very cold, and the pool closed early because of a birthday party at the hotel. My kids were looking forward to swimming and were pretty let down. If pool time is important to you, I’d call ahead to check hours and events."

"I actually really like the 1970's decor and design, very nostalgic for me. However there are big downsides to that. The bathrooms need to be updated, rusty water for one thing. Also the walls are PAPER thin. I got to hear my neighbors relationship drama for HOURS. Not fun. And there were so many rooms, I have no idea why they put me right next to someone else when they could have placed me where I didn't share wallpaper (which was peeling) with a drama factory. They also did not provide breakfast as the signs on the lobby advertised."
