Beautiful countryside cape cod style home designed with large wrap around veranda, stained log siding and thick wooden beams on the exterior and stained pine trim and ceiling with thick wooden beams on the interior to give it that luxury rustic cabin style feel. Complete with walk-out basement apartment having full ceramic tile flooring with in floor heating to keep our guest toes nice and warm. Also provided is a spacious living room, dining room area, Fully furnished kitchen to cook your own meals, washer and dryer with supplies, two queen size comfy beds with a massage chair to help you relax and feel right at home after a long day of taking in all the beautiful countryside scenery that the area has to offer, with Gros Mourne national park just thirty minutes away. Marble mountain just twenty five minutes for skiing and zip lining. A walking trail right behind the property that leads to rocky brook swimming hole where i would swim as a child.. Insectarium within minutes drive from your stay with beautiful walking nature trails just on the other side of the river. 8 mins from the intl airport, 5 mins from Deer Lake, leave from your door to groomed trails in the winter on your snow mobile and lots of old forest roads near by to explore on your atv's. The fun, adventure and the beauty awaits! We are a pet friendly home with 3 dogs, 3 cats & 8 layer hens. Our animals have free range of our property . If you or anyone with you does not wish to interact with the dogs, please let us know and we will make certain they are not outside when you are.

Upon arrival we were greeted by a very large dog, not sure if it was a Staffie or a pit bull, and no human around to control it. Luckily we were able to get around the dog. The accommodations were actually a basement apartment with windows on one side, so bedrooms were complete darkness with no possible escape in case of fire. There were people upstairs, most likely the owners. They decided to do what sounded like a load of laundry in an old washing machine, lots of banging at 11pm. The dog spent most of the night running around overhead. In the morning they started vacuuming, i don't know what time that was. Ultimately we only stayed one night out of the four we had booked. There was no refund, as i was supposed to cancel a week ahead. Overall, an unfortunate and expensive night.

Instructions to the apartment were fine. We did not get a phone number to contact the owner so all contact was via email. Our gps (Google) stopped at a location down the street. We got our entry code just over an hour before our check in time. Parking was right by the entrance. The apt was in basement and noisy in early afternoon and evening. The bedrooms had no windows and or access to HVAC. There were portable fans to help circulate air. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was adequate. But there wasn't much counter space to place toiletries on. It wasn't long after we arrived that I saw a huge black dog probably 100-125 pounds off leash barking in the backyard. It looked similar to a cane corso. I emailed to ask the owner about it and after several hours he replied that it was their "friendly" dog, "Kane." He didn't address my inquiry whether it was a cane corso. He indicated that they never tied him up and would keep the dog inside while we were leaving. The kitchen was fairly large and had dishes etc. We didn't use it much. Coffee was provided. The little milk creamer in the fridge was curdled and sour. The family room had a comfy sofa and a weight set. We didn't use the weight rack but it looked very nice for someone into weight training. Location was close to Deer Lake airport which was a plus. I would not recommend this apartment for a longer stay than just a night. Not crazy about the bedrooms or a large dog off leash.

Staying at this property was a pleasure, the location was perfect for our skidoo trip and the message chair was very relaxing after a long day on skidoo, the property had lots of room for parking and lots of room inside. As well as Very clean, quiet and comfortable. Would 10/10 recommend this for anyone looking for a cozy and quiet place to stay and we will definitely be coming back in the future!
