"We had a great stay at this hotel in Redondo Beach. The property is beautiful, very clean, and the location is hard to beat—right next to the ocean with easy access to the beach and surrounding area. The room itself was comfortable and well maintained, and overall the hotel has a really welcoming feel. The only downside was a lack of basic conveniences. The room had a coffee machine, but there was no water provided to make the coffee. The hotel also did not have a vending machine available, which made it difficult to get water late in the evening. I did call and request complimentary water, and although I was told it would be brought to the room, it never arrived. Aside from that minor inconvenience, the stay was very enjoyable. With just a little more attention to these small details, this would easily be a top-notch experience."

"I love staying at the Shade Hotel —the spacious rooms, the beautiful King Harbor view, and the balcony bathtub always feel indulgent. Champagne, a wonderful complimentary breakfast & a morning bike ride make every stay exceptional. It’s like a second home to me. "

"When management lives on-property things tend to be less desirable. Seems like cleanliness doesn’t matter so much. Great location. Price is manageable. But lower your expectations. This more of a “motel” than a hotel. "

"Yvonne was a great communicator and Henry was super helpful when we arrived in giving us a tour of the property and making some excellent suggestions for local restaurants and activities. The location on Hermosa Beach is spectacular and the house is full of 1930s character."
