"Black hill is a gorgeous wee cottage and had everything we needed for a short stay. It’s on a main road and the parking was a bit of a tight squeeze but the road wasn’t too busy so that was good. The local pub was closed Monday and Tuesday and closed at 9.30 on the Wednesday but we had a lovely meal there on Thursday night. There was a pile of DVD’s that we availed of in the evenings and lots of info on the local area supplied by the owners. We had a very relaxing break there with our dog."

"This was our second visit and it was everything we were expecting. Extremely well appointed accommodation. Very well equipped and in beautiful surroundings. For a relaxing break it is hard to beat. Plenty of walks if the weather is kind. Good food and drink at the pubs in Castle Carrock and Talkin, plus the golf club which welcomes visitors, or the cafe at the end of the tarn. Highly recommended"

"Beautiful, warm & cosy cottage with everything there that you need. A lovely woodburner in the lounge, kept us warm & toastie. Very spacious accommodation, very clean. Met by owner on arrival who pointed us in the right direction for supplies etc . We took the 2 dogs with us and enjoyed some lovely walks in the woods nearby, only a few minutes drive away . Would definitely be returning, and highly recommend to others who want a chilled break. "

"Amazing staff and cute little cafe on site. Brampton is a cute town a very short drive away as is Hadrian's wall. Amazing little cabin to unplug and relax away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Carlisle is also an easy 20 minute drive or so."

"We stayed here with my 4 and 1 year old. Both absolutely loved it. Beds are so comfy, wigwam was lovely and clean. My son loved the fishing. The cafe is great, the coffee is so nice. Overall an amazing little break with my little family. Would 100% return we have been looking for dates to return."
