So happy found this gem in the Centro Historico. It’s located in easy walking distance to most of the sites of the Centro Historico. Miryan was a wonderful host and made sure we had everything we needed. Her staff were wonderful and kind and the Hotel is very clean despite being historic. Breakfast (included) each morning was coffee/juice, fresh fruit, fresh eggs and local bread pastries. We stayed in a *spacious* “family room” loft room with lots of wooden access - our 2 kids got to sleep in their own beds in the loft which was much better than a hotel where they’d have to share a bed!.Despite being on a city street the room was very quiet with new windows. The hotel can arrange for cars and tours if needed and has a small gift shop in addition. We felt safe throughout our stay and walking around the Centro Historico while stores were open. Miryan gave us some small parting gifts to remember our time in Quito by. Would highly recommend this hotel to travelers looking for location and charm with good hospitality.

The Hotel Basilica is great! It’s in an old and well-preserved building with courtyards, comfortable public spaces and lots of plants and art. It’s only a few minutes walk from all of the main sights of colonial Quito. The best part of Hotel Basilica is the staff. From beginning to end, we were greeted by name, given advice on places to go and treated like family members. Gracias Hotel Basilica!

The hotel is in a brilliant central location in the old town just down the hill from the basilica. All the main city sites are easily walkable. The hotel is full of character & very quaint. Best of both worlds

The location is excellent, and the hotel itself is fantastic—more of an Airbnb-style setup than a traditional stay. It’s within easy walking distance of all the top spots in Old Town, including the Basílica del Voto Nacional, Independence Square, and the Basilica and Convent of San Francisco. I’d definitely stay here again if I ever return.
