Room 231 needs modernising room smelt of smoke. And toilet had a drain smell. Towels have a greasy smell as if washed with kitchen items.

Receptionist was very helpful and friendly. Expedia had said the restaurant was closed but it was actually open and was giving out old information. Good idea to check directly with hotel.

Spacious and clean room. Generally comfortable, I found the spring mattress a little uncomfortable. And surprisingly quieter than I expected with the motorways so close by. Reception staff were courteous and friendly. The room felt quite warm with three occupants, but cooled a little with the windows opened a little. And to be honest I didn’t look at adjusting the radiators at all. As we only stayed the one night for a family gathering at Berwick Manor nearby. I’d definitely consider staying here again should the need arise.

When I booked I was shown a picture of a room with a nice bath tub and on the listing on hotel.com it also said shower and bath tub in the room but the room only had a shower which was very disappointing, the room was freezing cold with no option to turn the heating on or off so I asked reception how do I get heating and the guy said it would be turning on in an hour which would have been 1am. The room didn’t warm up when I tried to sort this all out the next day the person I needed to speak to wasn’t there and I was also told only junior suites have bath tubs so it was falsely advertised but I didn’t get a refund. Normally I wouldn’t complain but I wanted to soak in the bath tub after a hard week and that was my reason for booking this particular hotel, the room was big and there was an odd banging noise every half hour, as I said not one to complain but this time I was disappointed.
