The staff is friendly. The breakfast is convent. The room is clean, but the air is a little bit musty.
Wasn’t the cleanest room however the breakfast included & facilities were good, staff in the Keppels head were great. Parking was a bit of a struggle as it’s street parking only & a permit is required (£5 per 24 hours). Was what we needed for a short stay
Good room for the money. The pub below is great fun. Interesting locals and excellent bar staff. Probably not everybody's cup of tea but we loved it. Karaoke night is a blast.

Perfectly acceptable and reasonably priced. Comfortable bed. Shower wasn’t brilliant and the room was a little tired.
Very friendly staff and pleasant traditional bar downstairs. Breakfast in the sister hotel next door was very good.
I stayed in the Keppells Head. Staff very friendly and willing to go out of their way. I had a room at the back of the hotel and no view. Also quite noisy, but to be expected being opposite the train station and near a busy pub. Lovely breakfast. A good stay overall and to be recommended.
Narrow stairs to second floor, no fridge, tv some channels were breaking up, so hard to watch, bar folks smoking in entrance way, great location to coach and trains
Excellent location right next to gunwarf shopping centre, bus stop and taxi rank outside.
Family ensuite room clean and spacious.
Lovely view overlooking spinnaker tower and boats.
Tasty breakfast, cereal, toast, pastries and full English.

Very close to wightlink ferries. Accomodating staff
Front desk at a different hotel. The other hotel has parking, but in a way treated us like we were "less" because we were staying at the Lady Hamilton. Breakfast and breakfast staff were wonderful!

The room was compact and basic as you would expect for the price, but it was clean and the bed though hard was comfortable. The radiator was on full blast which meant the room was too hot and I had to open the window which meant it was noisier than I expected and I didn't sleep well. The staff at the Lady Hamilton and the sister hotel where the breakfast was served were very good and make you feel welcome. The B&B is in a lively pub and but it quiets down about 11.30pm. All in all a good value B&B for the price and I would stay there again, but maybe in a different room.
A very historic old hotel with an excellent location and a 3-minute walk to the attractions you are interested in.
Strangely, the parking lot downstairs is not the hamilton hotel, but its sister hotel. So drivers have to go to the paid parking lot behind the hotel. It's a little inconvenient.
Located just feet from the Portsmouth Harbor train station, good restaurants (especially The Ship Anson) and the historic dockyard where you could spend several days touring the ships and museums. The beds were very comfortable and while there was no AC there was a fan which worked well with an open window to draw in the cool air. Breakfast was good, skip the “brown bread” tastes like saw dust. The room refresh was lacking, we had to request additional coffee, the waste basket was not emptied and no hand soap in the bathroom (upon arrival and after refresh, finally had to go to front desk to request). Staff were friendly and polite. Would stay there again.
Easy check in. Room fresh and clean. Coffee/tea and bottled water provided.
Secure too, with 3 locked doors to get through. Didnt pay for breakfast,so can't comment on that. If there was any negative it was the fact it was a communal toilet just down the corridor, but this never bothered me. Some might not be so happy. For the price it was perfect. I'd stay again if I'm in Portsmouth .Close to station and maritime attractions.
Clean and quiet at back of pub and ground floor room accommodated my daughter’s disability.
BUT, you need some hooks on back of bathroom door and a towel ring or similar. And the shower temperature was not consistent- far too hot or too cool.
