"New hotel Opened 1st April 2026 so everything is fresh and new. Helpful friendly staff and a bar/ cafe was useful. The hotel is outside the city centre in a commercial district but because it is so new taxi drivers did not know where it was. They need to get themselves on the map! One other issue was the train stop although very close, 5 mins, it was not easily accessible. A rough path just made by passengers."

"This is an A+ hotel outside of Bilbao near the harbor beach, the rooms are gorgeous and well appointed. The 2 person shower room is very luxurious. The staff is very welcoming and the service is superb. We had an electrical issue (the lighting would not turn off correctly) and the engineer fixed it very promptly. The breakfast spread is one of the best I've encountered in a long time, and the welcome drink on the terrace, ovlooking the harbor was a very nice touch. We were there during the outset of the heatwave, and the pool is very refreshing. There clearly is a water cooling syst to keep it that way and I suspect it can also heat the water in cooler weather. If you are in Bilbao and don't mind paying up a bit, this hotel should be on your list."

"Booked a basic room, which is ok for our night stop over. Always clean and very comfortable, with great views over the estuary. We have used this hotel twice a year for several years with no complaints. On our last trip we found slight damp in the corners of the wall behind the large window curtains. We were immediately upgraded to a better room. No fuss. No blame. ( first time ever we have found a fault). All the staff (including cleaners) have always been Polite. Friendly and very professional every time we have stayed at the hotel. Evening meals are well prepared and very tasty. Well presented and hot. Our waiter was fantastic. Chatty and could not do enough to make our meal time memorable. Breakfast buffet is very well presented, both for continental style meals and English breakfast and there is lots of it. We have the same staff member (when we visit twice a year), who puts in a lot of effort to make sure we enjoy our meals there. What is also good is that the hotel is on the estuary with great views, and is literally a very easy 5 minutes drive to the main port. well worth a visit."

Apartamentos La Arena

"We were given an apartment with a sea view. The beach is a few dozen meters from the building, so the location is excellent. The apartment has an interesting layout, is double-sided, and the bedroom offers beautiful mountain views. There's a large, free parking lot opposite, though it can get quite crowded in high season. The apartment itself is decent and relatively clean. Unfortunately, they forgot to clean the balcony. As for the downsides, the shower (shower tray) is in rather poor condition, and the bathroom itself has a ventilation problem. The kitchenette is old and looks a bit neglected. For us, the biggest downside was the lack of storage space. There is a small wardrobe and a coat rack in the bedroom, but for four people, it's definitely not enough; there are no shelves or cabinets. Despite a few shortcomings, I recommend the apartment overall."
