I've checked in to SEVERAL hotels and motels over the years and NEVER has the front desk person had to leave the building and "go and check the room" before. Once we opened the door I began to suspect why...The carpeting in the central "living room" of the suite was SOAKING wet (actual splashing sounds when I walked acrost it to set the temperature on the unit) and the smell in the room was like a jolt to to nose when we opened the door. It was a combination of wet dog and carpeting. Unfortunately, we were rushed to get to the event we were in town for so we changed clothes in the bedroom and left. Upon returning after the event much later we simply crawled into bed and went to sleep, which was not very good due to the environment in the room.
The next morning I mentioned it to the front desk who simply said "I'll have maintenance check on it. Nice customer service.
