"Only stayed one night, couldn’t get a drink at bar as was after 10 when the bar closes, seemed a bit petty given we were residents. Breakfast was good and room facilities great. "

"Superb for an overnight stay on our way from Scotland to the south coast. Liked the large and recently refurbished room. The public areas were spacious and decorated well also. Friendly and helpful hotel staff. "

"Couldn't fault it in anyway, very well laid out with everything you would need, really comfortable & cosy. We were staying in Daisy Cottage, Daisy the Cow was the theme throughout which made our stay even more delightful. Thank you Phil & Linda Woods for a wonderful holiday."

"Easy parking, excellent Reception staff. Room clean and comfortable. Christmas decorations in the bar/dining areas were beautiful and tastefully done.
Breakfast was lovely, as were the staff, very professional and well presented.
We would definitely recommend this hotel.
Thank you for a wonderful stay."
"The room was spacious and clean. The cooked breakfast was well presented, hot and filling, particurally after avert varied choice of cereals, fruit and yoghurt. The owners were interested in what we were doing and ensured we had the best experience that they could offer."
"Excellent spot and good value for money. The room was excellent with a beautiful en suite and it was dog friendly. The staff was excellent and super helpful."
"It took us two trips around the one-way system to find the place. The name of the place had changed to the Victoria Inn and was under new management. We had not received any notification of this. The pub downstairs looked absolutely fine, but we didn’t use it. We were taken upstairs to our room and it was obvious the place was being renovated as there were paint pots and dust sheets and decorating equipment in a corner in the hallway and wet paint signs everywhere. Our room was quite small. We couldn’t open the window. However, I did have a good night sleep and the shower was hot. "
"A very warm welcome, and Ann, the proprietor, was very helpful and friendly. Room was very well furnished and presented beautifully- perfect cleanliness. Excellent breakfast as well. Can’t think of anything to improve on. We will return whenever we need to stay over anywhere near Penrith. "
