Pet Friendly Log Cabin
This is an off-grid style log cabin, intentionally designed for guest who wish to disconnect and enjoy the pure nature of the Finger Lakes. Guest should expect limited amenities. These limited amenities include Solar Energy and an outdoor shower as weather may alter its availability. This cabin offers the use of an outhouse, a lean too and hut specifically designed to smoke meat during your stay. LOCATION Located approximately 7 miles South of the Village of Penn Yan, the log cabin sits just off the main route on a wooded 6-Acre parcel of land on the East side of Keuka Lake. This lot is located on the side of a hill and approximately 1/4 mile from the lake. This property does not have access to the lake. We fall in the middle of the Wine Trail between Rooster Hill Vineyard & Weis. We are approximately 17 Miles from Watkins Glenn State Park, 7 Miles from the Keuka Lake Outlet Trail & 14 Miles from the Keuka Lake State Park. ACCESS The driveway to the cabin is a stone driveway that is marked with a wine barrel sign. The driveway is about 1/4 mile long that will take you straight to the log cabin. In the winter, we keep the driveway plowed, but we recommend AWD or 4WD vehicles. AMENTIES/DISCLOSURES This is an Off Grid Log Cabin. It is truly designed for guests who are looking to set the electronics down, enjoy nature and live with basic amenities. If you desire more than the basics, we offer other rentals at neighboring properties that will accommodate those needs! The log cabin is heated by a gas fire place. It can be temperature controlled by a battery operated remote. Because this a true-log cabin, it holds the heat very well during the winter time! The cabin is only powered by Solar energy. Solar energy is limiting based on weather conditions. The solar batteries are able to turn on some interior lights, charge your cell phone & power the MiFi for internet. We have water on site during the summer time for guests to use an outdoor shower. The cabin is not plumbed. Bathroom is an outhouse We have a fire pit onsite, guests are welcome to use wood they find however we do not include split firewood. Our neighbors have split firewood stands you are welcome to purchase from and helps keep them happy! We have a smoker available for guest who would like to smoke meat. It is just the smoker itself, guest will need to bring materials needed to smoke their food. We have the cabin professionally treated by a local pest control company two times a year. Once in the spring & once in the fall. Although we are proactive in treating the cabin there is no perfect solution for a log cabin in the woods. If you can't handle the site of insects this rental may not be for you. Guest who stay during the winter, when it gets cold out the mice will try to get in. We do place traps out and remove anything we catch. Occasionally, that process happens while a guest is staying. If mice frighten you, this rental may not be for you. We are pet friendly, which means that other guests who have stayed have brought their pets here. We don't charge additional pet fees. We have an excellent cleaning crew but if you are sensitive and have pet allergies, this rental may not be for you. Deer are known to walk right up to the cabin, if you sit long enough on the porch you might be lucky enough to see one up close!

Cute primitive probably old hunting cabin under beautiful pine trees. The cabin inside is well kept. Nice hidden piece of property just needs some old unused things cleaned up under the leaves but overall was a very nice 4th of july weekend for us and our large dog.
When we first arrived to the cabin we immediately knew our trip to this little getaway was going to be wonderful. For a couple wanting a romatic getaway that loves nature this surely was the place! We loved the cabin, the porch the fire place where we cooked all our meals and sat outside in the evening under the blankets snuggling and admiring the beauty of the trees and the wildlife. The cabin was so clean and taken care of we didnt have to do anything to feel welcomed and at home. We have been to this cabin a few times now and will continue to come up enjoying the wonders of all the seasons at this quaint cabin in the woods! Ee highly recommend this cabin to anyone and at any season!
This is a 5 star place if you’re into rustic living. Read and understand the ad and you’ll be in good shape. This is totally off the beaten path but they do have lights, a nice, easy, and effective propane fireplace, and a 5G hotspot (although cell service seems to be fine there, overall). The place was spotless and you feel as if you’re on your own in the world. It’s great.
Its the cabin I've been searching for for years, Its very clean and the outside environment is very spacious. The outside bathroom was very clean. It does have solar powered lights but they dont last forever so bring lanterns, There is no running water so plan for that, There was evidence of mice so if that creeps you out then dont rent. Its very secluded so Animals are expected. Ive already rebooked. There was no coffee pot so i brought my own propane coffee pot because that porch was too perfect to not drink coffee on 😊
Had a great time at the Rustic Ridge Log Cabin. Good location for being away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist but close enough to get to all the great State Parks and wineries. Cabin was 'as described' - I brought a solar lantern and solar battery pack to charge my phone which helped out. Bring your own water for cooking and drinking. We cooked one night using the propane stove. No fridge so bring extra ice in your cooler to keep your food and drinks cold. Shower is available but water is cold! We used the shower to wash hands only! The porta potty was decently clean and did not smell too bad. Cabin was clean and amazing not too many bugs around. Great location at end of dead end road. Very quiet and cozy. Thank you!
Very clean and comfortable cabin. It’s in the perfect location to disconnect but also close enough to town to enjoy all that the area has to offer. I will definitely visit again!
Such a beautiful property, from the Cabin to the area its located in! Thank you so much for sharing your property with us for the weekend. We will definitely be coming back!
It took us a minute to find the property, but once we did it was exactly as described. We loved how secluded it was. We had such a wonderful time and will definitely be back!
We love coming to this spot with our dog for overnights to grab some bottles of wine and unwind by the fire pit. Cabin in warmed nicely by the wood burning stove and provided blankets. It’s a wonderful little gem tucked away in the woods.

It is truly a rustic log cabin! Very quite and relaxing. Definitely be conscious that there is no water, not even a well hand pump. Bed was comfortable and the wood stove kept it nice and warm.
Very nice getaway, great for our pups to run, nice fire!
The only negative is that the door did not lock. But besides that, it was a great spot. Would recommend!

Camping with roof and bed
The area was beautiful. The cabin was nice and we knew it would be rustic. But in the listing they listed in amenities, refrigerator, oven and stove. There was not. You needed to take a cooler with ice for sure. We ened up having to leave not long after we arrived due to my husband being stung by something and having a bad reaction. We informed the owners we were leaving and why, and they let us know they spray twice a year, so they were aware of a problem. I understand acts of nature are no ones fault but there wasnt any sympathy given by owners. Our experience was bad but i hope it was just a one time thing.

Power didn’t work, room wasn’t turned over
When we entered the cabin, the bed wasn’t made and there was trash in the bin. Someone had either failed to clean it between guests or someone had been staying there illegally.
We were unable to contact the host through the Vrbo app. We located a phone number for the host on their property management site and contacted them through WhatsApp. The host stated to give them a few minutes and they would sort it out, and issue a refund.
There was also an issue with the power not working. On two separate screens, it indicated “low battery”. We sent detailed videos showing that the power was not working. Our messages were left on “read” and the host did not reply. We were left without power, access to lights, oven and the freezer for the duration of our stay. The host never provided any solution to the dirty sheets, or the power.
After unanswered messages, emails and phone calls, we are leaving this review and awaiting a refund as promised by the host.
This was the PERFECT getaway for my dogs and I to have a little adventure. We LOVE camping and hiking and being surrounded by nothing but beauty. We also love disconnecting from technology...more and more. And this place has it!!!! Wonderful host as well.

La cama tenía caca de ratón arriba y un olor a ratón muerto dentro de la cabaña y no había luz ni agua para bañarse ni donde bañarse
Very nice rustic cabin in the woods. Everything was great except a lot of mouse feces on one of the beds. Could also hear the mice in the ceiling at night.
