Upon entering the condo, we were immediately hit with a foul, wet, moldy odor that made us sick to our stomachs. We had to open every window and door just to breathe. I even bought air freshener and used the entire can trying to mask the stench. The carpet was filthy and stained everywhere, and the tile floors were sticky and grimy. We kept our shoes on the entire stay because walking barefoot was not an option. The cabinets and countertops were falling apart, they looked ready to fall off the walls. The beds had sand in them, and the outdoor furniture was rusted and dirty. One bathtub didn’t have a stopper, so I used a washcloth instead, which turned brown from the filth. Nothing about this place felt clean or cared for.We’ve stayed at The Commodore many times, and while we knew this unit was dated from the photos, but we expected it to be clean. It wasn’t. The smell, the dirt, and the overall neglect were unacceptable. I’m shocked The Commodore allows this unit to be rented in such filthy condition. Whoever owns it clearly doesn’t care. It’s a health hazard and a disgrace to the property. We’ll never rent this unit again, and I plan to contact management directly to report how unsanitary it truly is. DO NOT RENT!
