"Perfect location in the Gothic Quarter. The hotel appears to have been recently modernised. The room we had looked out onto an inner rather drab central space, so I went to reception and asked whether we could have a better view for the following 2 nights. The receptionist was excellent and changed our room for one that had much better views. The breakfast was amazing, and if it's not included in your booking, is well worth paying the extra for."

"I was disappointed and won’t stay here again. I read reviews before booking, have strongly disagree with the reviews I read, after seeing the property. The hotel is not in a pleasant area, and did not feel safe to me. Just a couple of blocks away, near La Rambla, would have been better. There were many street people hanging around the area, many of them appeared to be homeless. The hotel was problematic because they use some sort of heavily fragrant cleaning solution everywhere, and the hotel lobby, elevators, and my room, had such a overwhelming smell of cleaning solution that I almost couldn’t breathe. I was there only for one night. If I had planned to be there longer, I definitely would’ve checked out and gone elsewhere, even at the expense of losing my money. The room is very Spartan. They try to promote this degree of starkness by saying they are doing this for the environment. Personally, I think they are doing it to save money. The bed was comfortable, the room were quiet, and I found the reception staff to be very accommodating. The location, the overwhelming smell, any limited amenities they provide in the room will keep me away. One more thing that they did have, that I am pleased with, is that had a working safe in the room."

"Wonderful location! Steps to restaurants and public transit. Easy to walk around and explore the charming gothic quarter. The staff was so nice. The rooms were quiet and comfortable!"

"This hotel is located near everything you could possibly need. Restaurants of every variety are only steps away. We ate at restaurants serving traditional Spanish tapas and paella, as well as an Irish Pub, Italian restaurants, an Indian restaurant, gelato stores, and American fast food locations all within very short walking distances. There are convenient stores stocked with water, chips, candy, and soda just across the street. A delicious pastry shop is next door, as well as a souvenir vendor. A laundry facility is less than a block away. Historic sites and beautiful sight seeing locations, as well as the public transit system are only a couple of blocks away. For the simple location I would stay here again. The hotel itself has an interesting history. Apparently famous people over the ages have stayed there. The rooms were clean and fairly spacious. We had wi-fi and the only problem we had with the air conditioning was due to operator error. We couldn’t figure out the remote at first. The hotel offers a breakfast everyday with eggs, breads of all types, pastries, yogurt, juices. It was very nice and the dining room very clean. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly and courteous. They were knowledgeable and helpful. Most spoke some English and we spoke enough broken Spanish that communication was never a problem with the staff. We had a delightful stay and recommend this hotel highly!"

"The hotel was clean, great location, and the staff were all lovely. We took an overnight flight and arrived in the morning exhausted. Our room was ready and they allowed us to check in well before check in time. It was a life saver. Great experience!"
