Scandic Grand Central Helsinki

"The Scandic Grand Central Helsinki is a beautiful hotel in a stunning Art Deco building. The rooms have been newly renovated and were spacious, comfortable, and very well appointed. The location is also excellent for exploring Helsinki. Unfortunately, our arrival experience was extremely disappointing. When we arrived to check in, the hotel’s system was down and staff were unable to check anyone in — even manually. While technology issues happen, it was surprising and frustrating that a hotel of this size and calibre had no contingency plan in place. Guests were simply left waiting with no alternative process available. Overall, we really enjoyed the hotel itself and would recommend it, but the lack of a backup procedure for something as fundamental as checking in guests was completely unacceptable and definitely took away from an otherwise excellent stay."

"Excellent location for those departing. I came with my dog, though had to drag my dog crate a long way as there were no trolleys. The room was small but clean and decent. Would use again."

"Near to Airport. Good place to stay if you have an early flight. Provide complimentary shuttle bus to airport is a huge plus. Close to a large mall, about 15 mins walk. Road along hotel was undergoing construction and hence vehicular access is limited especially if uber does not know the detour route."
