Host was extremely difficult to get in contact with. They would read our messages and sometime not respond for over an hour. We lost power the very first day. The host eventually contacted us and allowed us to use the much smaller unit in the back which did not fit our entire group, so half of is still had to sleep where there was no power. On our first morning there a realtor come by and brought around 10 people to 'tour the properties" staying the owner told them it was ok! We are there in pajamas cleaning up breakfast! In order to even make breakfast we had to combine what little cookware was offered from both units. Neither coffee maker worked. There were dirty clothes from a previous guest under the beds. And the couches were dirty. I asked for a partial refund for our difficulties and was told not a chance basically. I understand we used the property so I didn't expect a full refund, but something. I would not ever recommend this host.

The automatic lock had dead batteries. We arrived at 4pm and called the backup number. The person arrived at 5pm and offered a key. He replaced the batteries the next day at 10 am.

The home was clean, not luxurious but decent. Pretty bare bones but we did not need luxury. there were no toiletries, shower soap, shampoo, etc. the reviews mentioned that, but the listing says there is toilet paper, but there was like a quarter of a roll in one bathroom and we needed to go out and buy more toilet paper for the weekend. the neighborhood is transitional, but felt safe enough. most of the neighboring homes were upgraded and the area was clean and friendly.regarding contacting the host, i did contact her the day before arrival since i had not received any instructions. access instructions were then provided which were easy to follow and we asked if we could do an early check in which we were told would be difficult due to cleaning. we got there early to see if we could leave our luggage while we went to lunch and the cleaning was done. however i tried to call the host multiple times, including leaving messages through vrbo and never once got a reply. the phone number was called like 12-15 times either disconnected, went to voicemail, and the voicemail was "full and no longer accepting messages." For a vrbo to have no responses like that was very problematic. there were no major emergencies, so no fouls, but i am not sure how you can have a rental like this and be so unavailable.if we need to be in the area again, we would definitely consider staying here again, but would be more aware of its limitations, and probably bring some toilet paper with us.

We loved our stay! It was a clean space with all the amenities we needed. Central air was greatly appreciated and the washer and dryer, especially since we were participating in a dance convention and we needed to wash our clothes. I would love to book this space again for the next intensive dance training in the area. We would have liked to use the water from the fringe instead of purchasing water all the time but the filter light on the fridge was on red. Other than that everything was great and very comfortable.

Very Cozy & Clean

We were very pleased with the condition of the unit. It was very clean and comfortable, and just as listed. Overall, I was very happy we rented it and would go again. (*That being said, I'd bring - or ask for a larger coffee pot... The existing one is maybe 2 cups at most... and honestly, that was the only thing I could complain about! :) A very nice place!

This is a nice house. Very clean. I can tell that it was refreshed in recent years. It contained all that we needed during our trip. The home is in a neighborhood where we felt safe. It is in close proximity to the bay bridge, so we were able to travel back and forth between Oakland and San Francisco very quickly.

Comfortable conviennent welcoming home in Oakland

Our host was very welcoming and accommodating. The house is very fresh and clean and thoughtfully appointed. We were very central to everything we wanted to do - visiting family in the area and a student at Cal... a quick journey into SF to visit SFMOMA. The neighborhood is transitioning, but felt very safe and was quiet. We appreciated the off street parking - made access to the house easy for our elderly parent. We will be returning to the area many times over the next several years and would definitely stay here again - truly felt like our home away from home!

Clean, good location, street parking

Overall good, clean. Host was very responsive with messaging. Would use again.There was some miscommunication (putting it mildly) about parking; we were advised it was OK to park in the driveway. I ended up getting awakened at 5am so that the people in the shared driveway could get out for an emergency. The host seemed to think this was OK; we would recommend using the street parking.

Most enjoyable stay

Amazing view, modern amenities, gracious host. This place knocks it out of the ball park when it comes to a view. Wow! And the host, Mariza, was as pleasant and sweet as they come. The house was clean

Weekend at the bay!

Such a comfortable house for our stay. Only 20 minutes drive to Oracle Park. 15 minutes to IKEA. 10 minutes to Jack London Square. Clean house and linens. The kitchen had the necessities. Made for a nice stay for 4 adults and 2 babies.

Wonderful!

Clean, easy access. Wished it had dressers or tables for the suitcases, bags, etc. There was no soap for the shower yet everything else was good.

Clean and close to everything

The house was clean and centrally located! We were close to Berkeley, San Francisco and Alameda! Shoes are not allowed inside which makes this house clean and cozy!
