"While the staff here were professional, friendly, and did their absolute best, the structural issues with this property require urgent management attention. I made the mistake of relying on the brand’s global reputation without checking recent reviews, which I now see some of which echo my frustrations. The main issue was the climate control. I never thought I’d be freezing in Queensland, but my room was freezing cold on the first night. Despite cranking the thermostat, nothing changed. I notified the front desk the next morning, and while they sent maintenance who claimed it was "fixed," the second night was just as cold. As someone who usually finds Sydney winters mild, this was surprisingly unbearable. After demanding a solution, I was provided with a blanket and a manual space heater. Using a space heater on a carpeted hotel floor is a massive safety concern. Between the fire risk and a timer that required resetting every 20–30 minutes, I got almost no sleep during my three-night stay. I’ve stayed in everything from 5-star luxury to $100-a-night motels across many cities in Australia; even the cheapest motels had functional ACs. Had this been December rather than May, the lack of cooling would have been a health hazard. Management needs to address these basic infrastructure failings immediately. If Management is interested, I have videos of the thermostat showing the set temperature versus the room’s actual temperature as evidence. Anyway, never again at this hotel."

"Booked for a weekend away and was very happy with the size of the room and facilities at the hotel. The room could do with some newer TV that wasn't so low to the ground (very minor complaint). The staff where very friendly and helpful and we were given a full day access to the facilities and parking on check out day which meant we did not feel rushed to leave and made the most of the weekend. One thing to keep in mind is that you are required to have a physical credit card for check in. Given many people often only have digital cards with them this could prove problematic at check in. Overall, we loved our stay and would happily stay at Q1 again."

"We had a friendly welcome & got a room upgrade ,room was wonderfull ,cleaned each day & fabulous sea view. Breakfast was perfect so much choice & great times 6.30-10am Even thou pool wasnt open till 4pm due to renovations ,we could use another at sister hotel . Thankyou a great stay & location."

"The property offers stunning sunrise and beach views and is conveniently located. It was well equipped with everything needed for a luxurious stay. Unfortunately, the housekeeping was extremely disappointing. The cleaning appeared to be very superficial, and the bathroom was filthy, with visible dirt and mould. One of the housekeeping staff was also very rude and unprofessional. This housekeeper entered the room while I was getting dressed for lunch and insisted I leave immediately, otherwise the room would not be serviced until the following day. This was despite me politely asking for just 10 minutes to finish getting ready. They then left the room door wide open and waited in the corridor while looking in, which forced me to sit on the balcony half dressed for privacy. She removed some wet towels while others were left on the floor, and the bathtub was not cleaned. Another downside was that the TVs are outdated and it was unnecessarily difficult to cast Netflix. Thankfully, the staff assisted with the settings the following day. Had the cleaning and housekeeping service been up to standard, our stay would have been perfect. The front desk staff were lovely and very professional. They stored our bags for us pre checkin and after check out. Unfortunately, these issues made the overall experience feel below average."
