When getting to your destination you can go through really nice areas and really BAD areas. North Charleston lives up to that reputation. We did find some great places to eat and had fun at the country bar.

I really enjoyed the local food options. It looks a little unsafe around the property, so I wouldn't suggest walking nearby. However I never felt unsafe, just seemed a little questionable at times.

Improvements are constantly being made to the N. Charleston area. It's great to see and witness especially when you are visiting your college student and know what it used to be 30+ years ago!

Anything you could possibly want to do in terms of sightseeing or fun activities was within 15 min from the inn. I loved it
"Perhaps it's because this hotel itself is brand-spanking-new, or Drury's management just keeps its properties looking and running their best, but my stay at the chain's new North Charleston location couldn't have been better. I got the room location I requested, even though the hotel was teeming with family crowds in town for multiple high school graduation ceremonies the next day. Everyone seemed to be well served by the friendly, attentive staff. This is not my first experience at a Drury hotel, but there hasn't been a bad one yet. On even one of the busiest possible days, this hotel appears to be off to a great start."
