「This is the largest, and probably best hotel right in Nevada City, on the main street. But it is far enough from any live music venues not to be bothered. A beautifully restored/refitted old brick nineteenth century hotel. I would definitely stay there again in Nevada City. That said, it does not have 21st-century innovations like TV or swimming pools! But if you want old-timey Gold Country charm, I recommend it. The hotel restaurant is good, too. And the staff was professional

「This property is really a hidden gem of a hotel. The rates are very reasonable and the area around the hotel is beautiful. The property even has a natural waterfall and a fern grotto which is extraordinary. The rooms are older but very clean and well maintained. Also the beds are very comfortable. The room also has a small refrigerator and microwave.
All in all this is a place you should really consider. I know i would definitely come back.

「My fiancé and I took a last minute trip and this place was perfect. Freshly renovated, we booked the room with an open ceiling. I could tell it was newly remodeled just by looking and smelling. The nice young woman who I believe is the owner was very gracious and accommodating. It’s walking distance to old downtown which has plenty of restaurants. The parking lot can be a little tricky due to the design and space. I highly recommend this quaint inn and hope to make a return visit. 」

「The lodge is located in the forest! We enjoyed the trail right next to the highway that is easy and meanders through the woods! The breakfast is more than a continental one with hot eggs potatoes and sausage. My room was upstairs with sumptuous king bed but no TV. My other party had our dog in a pet friendly room with two queens. His room had jacuzzi tub; mine just had shower. Overall great property!!」
「I need to travel to grass Valley for two months for my nursing program. I found this hotel and decided to book it based on the price and was not expecting much because of the price. I was pleasantly surprised! The unit is very big. When you first walk in, you have a bathroom area to the left and then a fridge and microwave on the right and then you walk down a few stairs into the actual room which is a very large space. It doesn’t come with a lot of extras, but it was definitely worth the price...
「This is a recently renovated Gold Rush era hotel, very quaint and authentic. The rooms and bathrooms have been updated to modern standards which is nice, but have authentic period decor/antiques. The town is VERY small and cute, extremely quiet (in general) and a walkable historic self-guided tour. It makes a great base of operations for exploring the area.
A couple of things to know: it is 3 story, but because of the age, there is no elevator (typical with Gold Rush era hotels). They have one...
「It’s great when you can support an independent motel instead of the big chains. We enjoyed a clean comfortable shower and sleep in a comfortable very well kept little motel. The a/c was wonderful, cool, with a steady sound that never awakened me the way the ones at too many other hotels have on our cross country trip. 」
