"I come to the Heidelberg area often for business, and when I do, I stay at Villa Marstall if at all possible. It is a carefully restored private villa right in the heart of everything, yet on a very quiet street facing the incredibly beautiful Neckar river panorama. The staff is friendly--it feels almost like a really nice B&B--and the breakfasts are delicious. I don't know quite why, but this is one of my favorite stays in all my frequent travels."

"It was a very pleasant stay. The shower pressure was good, bed was soft and location is great. Small room, but I want planning to be there for anything other than sleeping. Only downside is parking is charged daily, and not included by the hotel. So if you bring your own car, this is an extra cost to consider. "Historical hotel in a great location in the Altstadt. Staff very friendly and helpful, and the restaurant has great regional offerings. Please note, some of the rooms only have a window to an indoor hallway and not the outdoors. I apparently unknowingly signed up for such a room. When I raised it with hotel staff, they quickly gave me a different room with windows to the outdoors. However, I was lucky they had such a room available as the hotel is very popular."

"Being right in-front of the church in the old town square was great. Makes wondering around convenient and you feel you can see more as you are nearly always walking distance. The on-site restaurant had wonderful food, and the selection of beer and wine rounded out the evening. I have to say the staff was remarkable. Always so much fun having conversations about how they go through life and to see their impressions of America. Would highly recommend as the place to stay."

"Great location in Heidelberg, one easy tram or bus ride from the train station, and major transportation hub. There is an elevator for your luggage. Easy walk down a boulevard full of shops and restaurants to get to Old Town, and not much farther for the Castle. The room is large and I enjoyed the matching modern wood furniture, sofa, and sizeable bathroom. Curtains did a reasonable job keeping out light in the morning. Our only complaint was the noise from the street. Because the square is a major transportation hub, there is significant car, mass transportation, and people noise into the night. If we had known this ahead of time, I would have inquired if there were rooms available with windows away from the street."
