"The property is a charming historic hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The pool was lovely as well, though it was a bit chilly to use it. We enjoyed sitting beside it. Our room was well appointed though cosy. People who enjoy a spacious room would want to specify that when booking. The restaurant is excellent. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner."

It did not disappoint; excellent and helpful staff, brilliant location with an easy walk to the old city, a private secure car park, quiet comfortable room, and a good breakfast. "A lovely family run hotel with attention to detail and great service. Great location, with a super pool (great for kids). Beautiful views across the hillsides. Breakfast was delicious and very fresh. Friday night BBQ and live music was a lovely experience. We visited a local Thai restaurant on Friday evening, as recommended by the hotel - they weren’t wrong. It was really tasty and the service excellent. All in all would highly recommend and would love to return to Hotel L’Abbaye!"

"Rambling large country home on a hilltop in the Dordogne area of SW France. Great outdoor amenities with a heated pool and large hot tub and outdoor shower. Also outdoor dining area with umbrellas and lovely views. The XL dining room was a great bonus for our family dinners. All bedrooms have an en-suite bathroom. There is no powder bathroom or half bath. As Americans we struggled with the size of the small showers. Also there is no A/C and the upstairs can get quite warm in the summer. There are fans in all of the bedrooms. Andy was very helpful and always ready to guide us about the property and the region and make great suggestions. They have an excellent binder in the house as well with a lot of info. We all had a wonderful time here! "
