At this Okinawan farm, in late September, the day Lilly field is in bloom. In Japan they use the day lily leaves to make a very mild tea that aids in sleep and soothes anxiety.  And since the Japanese never waste they actually pick off the flower buds and boil them with vinegar to eat! You can buy a bag to pick the flower buds and the sweet girl at the counter too the time to translate the recipe for me in English from her phone!
