Hotel was dated but very comfortable. We booked a junior suite and it was massive. The onsen was amazing and great for kids. No shops close by and taxis very expensive even tough a short distance from town.

The room itself is newly renovated with 2 bunks - beds are comfy. The generous space comes in handy when storing ski wear, which are usually quite voluminous.

The reviews are true. This property is very dated, however for the right price it is a decent place to stay. The rooms are clean and well equipped. There is an onsite ski rental shop, ski lockers, convenience store and wonderful onsens and pool area.
My new hubby and I stayed here for a few nights for skiing. Overall had a good time the rooms were spacious, clean and tidy and right outside of the ski slope. However no where on the booking told us that there were no currency exchange options or ATM in the hotel. Luckily we had the exact amount of money otherwise we would’ve had to bus it back to a main area (20-40mins) to get cash to hire our ski gear. There’s minimal food options around the area however the hotel had a buffet Brekky/dinner option (no lunch but there is a cafe at the ski slope) which was great and allowed eftpos. Times for this were limited though Brekky only 7-8:30am and dinner 6-8pm. There’s not much in terms of snack food to buy in or around the hotel so be sure to bring some before you get there. While we were out skiing room service came and took our towels but didn’t replace them so we had to grab some from reception but otherwise had a good stay. The outdoor pool party area was awesome with outdoor hot tubs which was a highlight. The hotel had an eery haunted vibe to it but added some character so we didn’t mind.

Food was great, lots of room in the rooms with the extra meditation space, view was great. Bathrooms were super small, location is great right on the resort, building was a "well loved" over the years but it was clean.
For starters it is so hard to travel to and from hotel and staff there are very little help. In fact they seem quite annoyed when you ask for any assistance. We caught the bus up from the valley and they drop you at the bottom of the long drive then you have to drag all your luggage up the slippery long drive to the hotel entrance. Our room was a “pet friendly room” despite having no pets of our own. The room smelt of dog and we were kept awake by dogs barking in the other rooms. A dog even took and crap out the front of our room and made is smell even worse. The buffet dinner was nice but they stop serving breakfast really early and very limited food options available. The skiing and access to snow was great. Also need to have cash and no contactless payment when paying for things. The hotel offers a free shuttle service that runs very infrequently and only to a train station no one needs to go to. After check out we had to lug our bags back down the icy long drive in the snow and wind and wait with no shelter for the bus to arrive. Also ski shop people spoke very little English which made it hard. Not a great experience for a hotel that caters for international guests.
This is one of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed in. It is absolutely not suitable for families with children.
The facilities are extremely old, and the food is very basic and only has buffet. They charge 4,950 yen per person for dinner, regardless of whether you are an adult or a child, and another 2,200 yen per person for breakfast, again the same price for children. So for a family of four (2 adults + 2 children), it comes to 28,600 yen per day just for two meals per day, and every day you have to eat same food.
On top of that, the hotel is located in an isolated area, with no restaurants, supermarkets, or convenience stores nearby. You basically have no alternative — you either pay what they charge or go hungry.
Even water is expensive: 250 yen per bottle from the hotel shop, and if you want pay cheaper price from the the vending machines, unfortunately, the machine's water bottle are always sold out or unavailable.
Overall, I strongly do not recommend this hotel, especially for families. It is overpriced, old, and lacks basic convenience.
Large rooms. Excellent onsen and outdoor pool and sauna. Direct access to the ski area. Ski in and out. Free shuttle to Minami-Otari train station. Very reasonable lift ticket prices that allowed you to ski Norikusa and Cortina. Staff very helpful as well. All around great place to stay.

Staff were not overly friendly. There was plenty to do. Family had fun skiing, utilising the onsen and pool as well as the game room. Buffet was good during breakfast, some other restaurants only 12 min walk away so location was good too if you don’t mind walking
