"This mountaintop venue above the clouds is extraordinary. The only way to arrive here is through the cog-rail train or the gondola. The crowds without hotel reservations are there only during the day but leave on the last trip down around 5:30 so the mornings and evenings are quiet. Hiking trails abound. The restaurant serves excellent food. The rooms are basic but clean and with everything you need. "

"The view is paradisiacal. It’s easy to get there from Zurich, with just one bus. The hotel is somewhat old, but very charming."

Everybody was friendly and helpful, and the breakfast buffet was our favorite from our trip. We stayed at 3 different hotels across Italy and Switzerland, but this one had the best breakfast! We appreciated that we were just enough off the beaten path in a beautiful courtyard with a church dating back to 1270! It was quintessential and relaxing. The train station was less than a 10-minute walk, making it perfect for exploring Suisse. They also had an amazing restaurant, and we ended up eating there all three nights.
