Very convenient location. The hotel is nice but the rooms are in need of updating. Carpet was very stained and bathroom door wasn’t able to open fully.
Beautiful historic hotel with nice roof top bar and great AC in all the rooms! AC so important if you are staying in Luzern in the summer, especially during a heat wave!
Great place to stay, air conditioned rooms, friendly multilingual staffing. Literally in front of the train station/mall/Dr office and pharmacy for location convenience. My only issue here was my room's bathroom door was malfunctioning buy due to the weekend and holiday was tuff to get someone to fix it and is understanding, I would stay here again if I return in the future.
This is a very nice hotel directly across the street from the train station. The chapel bridge is only a short walk away. I didn’t have breakfast at the hotel, I thought it was a little too expensive. The roof top bar has a wonderful view of the lake and the mountains. My wife and myself had a drink and a snack and enjoyed the view. I would definitely stay there again.
The staff was very helpful and patient (as I did not speak German). Great rooms. But the refrigerators were confusing and practically unusable. Otherwise great location, staff, and time.
It is located right next to Luzern Station. It is very convenient, as you have access to the grocery stores situated around the station. The boat landing is also nearby, making it easy to take a boat trip to visit Mount Rigi, and you can also reach Mount Pilatus quickly by train.
Clean and spacious room. Front desk staff was friendly and it was just walking distance to the places of interest.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Hotel Monopol. The location is excellent — right next to the train station and within easy walking distance of the Old Town, city walls, lake piers, restaurants, and grocery stores, which made exploring Lucerne very convenient. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of options, and the staff were especially friendly and helpful, even assisting us with contacting the airport about our delayed luggage. The only minor downside is that the building is older and some of the furniture feels a bit dated. Like many hotels in Switzerland, the rooms rely mainly on opening the windows for cooling instead of air conditioning, so street noise from the busy area can sometimes be noticeable at night. Overall, the great location, excellent service, and good breakfast made this a very pleasant stay.
The breakfast was excellent, and the location near the train station and the pier is perfect for travelers who want to explore rather than just stay in the hotel. The rooms are spacious, and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
