You can walk to the local pub, but itâ€™s not the easiest walk - no path and up hill on way back, but do a nice meal. It is so peaceful and has amazing views. Will definitely go back again."

"Beautiful Lodge in an idyllic setting, immaculate, clean and well stocked. Added bonus was the hot tub although the weather was exceptionally hot and a "cool tub" would've been amazing. Good location, easy for visiting Dalscone Fun Farm. Booked to return again soon. "

"This house is wonderful for big family gatherings. We loved it. The space is fabulous, kitchen well stocked and the dining room is lovely for big family meals. The breakfast table was superb for sitting and enjoying watching the birds on the feeders. So quiet and peaceful and lovely walks."

SUSAN THE OWNER TOLD ME AS I FINISHED MY FULL SCOTTISH BREAKFAST HAGGIS INCLUDED LOL. HAD A 1 NIGHT STAY FOR WORK AND COULD NOT COMPLAIN ABOUT ANYTHING REALLY. VERY ATTENTIVE STAFF. "We had a great stay at Hamilton House – very friendly owners, spotlessly clean property, large comfortable rooms and a great breakfast. Really useful having the car park at the back for our motorcycles, out of sight and under cameras. 15 minute walk in to town. Dumfries is a great base for exploring the area, highly recommended, we will be back!"
