I stayed at the Sofitel for four nights before joining my tour group for an Antartica trip. The hotel is beautiful. The staff were friendly and helpful. I arrived in the early morning and check in is at 3pm. The staff worked hard to get me into a room by 10am. I was so very appreciative of this. I was also given some delicious pastries from the Patisserie in the lobby. These two ‘perks’ were due to my status with Expedia, or that’s what I believe. My room was spacious, very comfortable and quiet. The breakfast at the hotel had a wide variety of food options. I had lunch at the Patisserie in the lobby several times instead of venturing out. The food was very good. I had drinks in the hotel lounge one evening, which wasn’t crowded at all. The hotel is in the recolecta neighborhood which is a nice safe area. There’s a high end mall across the street that I was told has a Starbucks and several places to find a reasonably priced meal. If I return to Buenos Aires I would not hesitate to stay here again.

The two Gonzalo’s at the front desk were so helpful! The shorter one with dark hair was the best! He spent a lot of time with us explaining the city, places to eat, and even showed us how to make and drink mate. He made our stay at the hotel extra special! The breakfast was average, could have more variety, but the staff there were lovely as well. The location of the hotel was great too, easy to walk and safe.
